The dinner

I texted Richard.

"Hey Mer can you come out here for a minute" he said talking about going to the backyard

"Yeah" I said following him

We went outside.

"I need to talk to you like really need to talk to you" he said

"Go on" I said

"Our relationship is a mess and I love it. I want you to know that I will do anything for you and our kids" he said putting his hand on my stomach

"You practically walked away from us when you decided to stay in Boston" I scoffed

"Mer hear me out I-" he said and I cut him off

"No. Look Derek, I tried to kill myself about a month ago. I was so broken and I needed you. You weren't there and I-" I said crying

"I couldn't do it anymore. I couldn't do us anymore. I can't live like this" I cried turning around

I tried to open the door and he pushed my body into it. He wrapped his hands around my stomach and started crying.

"I'm so sorry" he cried into my neck.

I saw the front door open from the glass back doors.

"Let's go inside. Everyone's here" I said wiping my tears away.

He let me go and I opened the door. I walked in and started putting a fake smile on. We all sat down and Derek was still outside. I left a seat next to me open for him. We all started grabbing plates and everyone was talking to each other.

"So why did you decide to come to Seattle" Lexie asked Maggie

I couldn't listen to anything. I made a plate of food for Derek and I. I started eating my food. I drank some apple cider and stayed there in silence.

"Hey Mer what's wrong" Amelia whispered

"Guy problems" I smiled

"Oh yeah sorry can't relate" she laughed

I started laughing.

"Hey you should get out there more. You're hot" I smiled

"Oh trust me. I know I'm hot. But I'm taken" she smiled

I looked at her confused in then I realized. I wasn't a guy

"Oh wow congrats I can't wait to meet her" I smiled

"You've already have" she smiled

"Who" I asked

"She's like your best friend" she smiled

"Addy" I asked

"Yes she's so amazing" she smiled

Why hasn't Addison told me any of this. We tell each other everything.

"She is" I smiled

Derek finally walked in and sat down. He wrapped his arm around my back and held me into him. I rested my head onto his shoulder and kept eating. He kissed the side of my head. He ran his hand up and down my back.

"I'm so exhausted" I whispered

"Just a little longer in then you can have all night and all day tomorrow to rest" he said pecking my cheek.

He let go and I sat up. He started eating. He grabbed a spoon and started hitting his glass of champagne. He stood up

"We have an announcement to make" he said looking down at me
