Merder getting to know each other

After the fact

The next morning, I woke up and put my pajamas on because last night we were having some alone time. I left my bedroom. I fed and changed Bailey. Derek was still sleeping. We both were still on maternity leave. I left the house and went to a breakfast cafe. I ordered a take out order and brought it home. I walked in and started eating. This postpartum was really kicking my ass. I was really hungry. I finished my food and went upstairs. I walked into my bedroom and Derek was on his phone.

"Hey I was wondering where you went" he smiled putting his phone down.

"I went to grab breakfast" I smiled

"Ooo" he smiled sitting up.

The blanket was over his lap. I climbed onto the bed and went over to his face. I started kissing him. He put his hands on my face and rolled us over. He was on top of me. He deepened the kiss and someone started calling me. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and answered.

"Hello" I said

He started kissing my neck.

"Mmm" I moaned softly holding the phone away

He deepened his kiss onto my neck

"Hey Meredith can you and shep come down to the hospital. I have a long term patient and he's finally ready for surgery. The patients parents wanted you two" Richard said

"Yeah sure um just give us about an hour" I moaned

I hung up the phone and Derek looked at me

"Who was it" he asked

"Richard. We're going to the hospital for a surgery. They asked for us" I smiled

"Wow. You're very sneaky" he smirked

"I wanted a surgery" I laughed

"We have an hour" I smirked

"Oh right" he smirked

He took my shirt and bra off. I got another phone call.

"Ughhh" I sighed angrily

I answered the phone

"What" I said loudly

Derek looked startled

"Meredith we can't wait. He's crashing" Richard said

"We'll be right there" I said annoyed

I threw my phone down.

"We have to go the kids crashing" I said

He got up and we both started getting dressed. I went to Bailey's room. I grabbed him from his crib. I brought him downstairs and we left the house. I put him into the car. I waited for Derek and he finally came out. We went into the car and drove to the hospital. I took Bailey up to daycare and dropped him off. We changed into scrubs and quickly ran to the patients room.

"Hey you guys take it from here" Richard said leaving the room with the patient's parents.

"His heart rates stable but low. He needs surgery immediately" a woman said checking his heart.

She stood up and turned to look at us

"And who are you" I asked

She held her hand out

"New cardio attending. Dr. Pierce" she said

"Dr. Grey" I said shaking her hand

"Dr. Shepherd" Derek said shaking her hand

We took the patients bed and wheeled him to surgery. He was still out cold. The nurses took him into the OR and started getting him prepped. Dr. Pierce, Derek, and I were scrubbing in.
