• chapter twenty five •

• Mei's PoV •

"Oh, by the way, Mei, your friend said he was going to drop you to school today so don't leave." My mum told me.

My brows furrowed. What friend? And he!?

"Umm, mum I have no friends other than Ae-Ri. What are you on about?" I asked as I shoved food into my mouth.

"His name was..... Uh..oh, Taehyung."

I almost choked on my scrambled egg. "When is he-"

I was cut off by our doorbell. Shit! Why was he picking me up!?

"That would be my uh, ride. See you." I told them. I stood up and rushed to the door. I opened it to Taehyung in his uniform.

"Hello." I awkwardly said as I shut the door behind me. "I'm dropping you to school." He said ignoring my hello and walking to his car. Wait, so if he had a car why did he take the bus in the past?

"Umm, I know that and thanks, but why?" I questioned, walking up to him. He opened the car door for me. "Just cause." He said and walked around the car.

Just cause!? What kind of response is that!?

I cleared my throat and got in after him. He started the engine and instantly pulled out of my drive. His car was much different to jungkook's-

Stop comparing everything to jungkook!

"Does it have anything to do with, jungkook?" I asked, turning my head to look at him. My eyes flickered to his jaw when he clenched it. I tightened my grip on my bag.

"No, it doesn't." He responded in a low tone. I nodded and looked out the window. Then what could've been the reason? Maybe it was...just cause? I mean, he could be trying to make it up to you for being a jerk in the past.

I was just overthinking things.

He drove fast, so we got to school just under ten minutes. I waited for him to park before muttering a thanks and getting out. I swung my bag over my back and speed walked to the school doors.

I didn't want anyone seeing me getting out of his car. Heck! It would be this week's new gossip. I especially didn't want jungkook seeing. Not that I care if he did or not. He is no one to me and I can do things without being paranoid.

Whilst walking I turned back to his car. My eyes widened when we locked eyes. I wasn't expecting him to be looking in my direction. He was leaning against his car with his arms folded.

I quickly turned my head around, only to bump into someone. I was instantly hit with a familiar scent of a cologne. My favourite cologne.

I hesitantly glanced up at him, but he wasn't looking down at me, he was staring at Taehyung behind me.

Why was I still standing here?!

His eyes then suddenly flickered down to mine. They weren't his usual cold hard stare, his eyes were soft. Like a little kid staring down at his favourite teddy bear.

Like I was the most precious thing In the world.
I wanted to be his teddy bear...

I hope he could read my eyes just like I do his. I wanted him to see that I still had love for him and that it hasn't completely died out.

I stepped back and looked down at the floor as I walked past him.

In my head, I was screaming at him to call my name, but he didn't. I walked into the school doors with a small pout on my lips.
