• Mei's PoV •

"Dad, can i-" I began but he cut me off. "Have you asked your mother?" He asked me. I scoffed. "You didn't even listen to what I had to say!" He looked back down at his phone. I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen.

"Omma" I whined as I entered the kitchen. "Hmm." She hummed whilst shutting the sink tap. "Dad won't listen to what I have to say!" I groaned. She rolled her eyes. "When does he ever. She said and looked up at me.

"okay, what is it?" She asked. A smile appeared on my lips. "Can I go to a party this weekend?" I asked her. I fiddled with my fingers while I waited for her response.

"Yes."

"Thank you!" I squealed.

"On one condition." She said with a raised brow. My smile dropped and was replaced with a frown.

"Omma, you always say that...!!!" I whined.

"You have to babysit my friends baby." She told me.

"Oh. Am I going go get paid?" I asked her.

"Aihhh, don't be greedy, Mei. I told her I'd send you for free because she's an old friend of mine. Plus, her baby is so cute." She said with a small pout. I pouted with her. I loved babies.

"Ok, I'll do it. When is it?" I asked as I grabbed a glass. "Tomorrow after school."

I poured water into my glass and took a sip. "That's fine, im not busy anyways."

I was scrolling through Instagram when my phone vibrated. I looked at the top of my screen and saw it was Hyungwon. I tapped on his name and opened the message.

Hyungwon (math boy) 😮

Hey
Can we meet up?
I thought we could study?

Today?

Yeah.
Are you free?

I am, where would you like to study?

You know the cafe near the library?

I do.

Ok, be there at 4.

I checked the time and it was 3:30pm. I had nothing else to do so I grabbed my bag and began shoving some of my old math notes into it. This bag was from last year. I missed my other one. I threw in some old rubbish pens and changed my shoes. My outfit seemed fine. I was wearing a pair of lose white pants with a baby blue jumper. It was cute.

I swung my bag over my back and walked out my room. "Eww, you're going on a study date." Soobin said from behind me.

A date? I turned around and looked down at him. "Have you ever been on a date, chubby?" I asked and ruffled his hair. He smacked my hand away and styled his hair again.

"In school they call me the ladies man. Everyone loves me." He said with a smirk. I raised my brow. "You keep doing you." I said and raised my fist for a first pump.

He looked at me then down at my fist. "No" he said then turned around. My lips parted in disbelief. I frowned and fist pumped myself.

I turned around and ran down the stairs. "Bye mum, dad. I'm going to study with a friend." I yelled.

"Ok, be safe and come back early!" My mum yelled back.

I opened the door and began walking to the bus stop. I pulled my phone out and checked the time. It was only 3:45pm. I had enough time. I decided to walk slow so I could catch the late bus.

I finally made it to the stop and sat down on the mini bench. I waited there for a few minutes before the bus came. I took at seat and checked the time. My eye widened when it was already 3:52. Hopefully there isn't any traffic so I'll get there on time.

I took out my headphones and played TXT's new song: 0Xlovesong. I rested my back against the seat and looked out the window. Whenever I listened to this song a smile appeared on my lips. I looked up when I saw a couple my age get on the bus. They looked so cute.

They were wearing these matching white bunny hats. It made me sad. I wondered why no guy ever approached me in school. Was it because I had to approach them first?

I pressed the bell and stood up from my seat. I waited for the bus to stop before getting off. It was now 4:03pm. I began speed walking to the mini cafe. I went there with my mum a few times. When I got there I was welcomed by a guy. He was probably few years older than me. I gave him a small bow.

I looked around the cafe. "Has anyone come here waiting for someone called Mei?" I asked him. He asked me to wait while he checked the book list. After flicking through pages he finally turned to me.

"Sorry miss, no one has registered." He told me. I nodded. He was probably more late than I was. "I'll book a table for two please."

He nodded and wrote my name down. "This way." He lead the way to a mini table. It was big enough though. Before he left I stopped him.

"What time does the cafe close?" I asked him.

"6pm ma'am."

I nodded and smiled. I placed my bag beside me and took out some of my notes. While I was waiting my eyes roamed the cafe. It was a beautiful one. The whole place was covered with plants and flowers and it was made from wood.

"Your order, miss?" A woman said as she took out a notepad.

"Oh, uhh."

Should I wait for Hyungwon? I have been here for almost ten minutes. "I'll have two milk boba's please."

She nodded and walked away. I wasn't sure what he liked. I wondered if he was cute. I mean, I do remember Ae-ri bragging on about how cute guys were in her class, but I never remembered her mention Hyungwon.

I looked up when I saw a guy my age walk in. He was wearing a backpack and had some books in his hand.

I sat up straight. My brows furrowed as I watched him walk over to a table of guys. I guess that wasn't him.

"Your boba's ma'am"
She placed them on the table and gave me a smile. I smiled back and took a sip. It tasted so good! I need to bring chubby here.

I sat back and drank my boba whilst waiting for him.
