ANNABETH CHASE

Today was another day. The Chaos Army members all sat on the front porch outside their cabin, most likely working on battle plans. Their faces, again, showed no expression. Simply stone masks that led me to the suspicion they're automated robots sent from Chaos here to destroy Order and create less casualties for the war in general.

But that wasn't the case.

No one could pull off Percy looks like Percy and I out of all people would know a fake the moment I saw one. The day he left... it was like we were all snapped out of a dream. We had walked straight into a nightmare.

--1046 YEARS AGO--

It was dark. We were all scrambling for the lights and I heard the ruffling of a cloak and the twigs cracking under what seemed to be boots. As all the campers scrambled to try and light the fire, which didn't seem to be working, I heard the spraying of some sort and the shaking of metal cans. And then, it was all silent. The campfire came on and we were hit with something we never thought we'd see.

Bye forever, Camp Half-Blood. I won't miss you one bit because you're all so stupid to think I'd do things like you said I did, when you all know WELL that my fatal flaw is loyalty. I don't care if the world is full of monsters sent to kill me. I'd rather get killed than stay here. But one thing's for sure: I LOVE BLUE COOKIES. Those don't betray me like you did.

And on the other, wall, there was in sea-green paint: PERCY JACKSON, SON OF POSEIDON.

"Is everyone alright?" I asked before addressing the paint on the walls.

For a second, I was still in the anti-Percy stupor before I remembered when Percy and I used to kiss and share blue cookies. How he said he'd never stop loving me. Wait... why did I stop loving him? Then, after I blinked, I could almost see clearer. And it hit me. I was being controlled. When I looked at everyone else, I could see it, too. So I did the most stupid thing I've ever done.

"GUYS!" I yelled, gaining their attention, "BLUE COOKIES ON JUNE 20."

Everyone blinked twice and surprisingly, it worked. They all looked around, not sure of where they were. And I felt anger course through my body as I saw Tommy.

"TOMMY," I said, grabbing his collar. "You have one chance to explain what happened now."

"That Jackson freak is a menace! I hate him so much I just want him dead!" Tommy growled, slapping my hand away from his collar. "I hope he'll go away and leave us all in peace! I'm the strongest demigod there is anyways!"

"Well you did!" Jason exclaimed, "You just got rid of the biggest hero of all time! Now no one's gonna defend us from the..."

He trailed off. There they were. Packs of monsters waiting outside the barrier. Swords raised. Shields ready. Eyes screaming 'demigod flesh'. And the moment one stepped foot in the barrier, I whipped out  my sword, ready for a fight. When one was successfully in the barrier, all of them charged through, storming down the hill like a flood.

"Run!" I yelled to the younger campers, "Get in your cabins and lock the doors!"

The younger campers ran in, watching with wide eyes from the window. And we fought. I slashed through one, ducked, and parried the following strike of a dracnae. The dracnae laughed evilly.

"What?" I demanded as I fought, bringing my sword up to her throat.

"You demigods fell for it."

With that, I stabbed through her. Her voice rang in my ears.

You fell for it.

Then, it hit me. This was about Percy. They had told us about this literally when we found Tommy sitting in a... pot. I just thought this kid was weird but the moment I had touched him, I remembered nothing... Did the... Did the dracnae hijack the camp from the inside? Either way, I needed to get Percy back. I slashed through the next monster and just as the last disappeared, an unknown voice rang through the camp.

"Oh... Camp Half-Blood... Nothing without their mighty hero."

Every camper looked around, wondering where the noise was coming from. But no other voices came out from the eerie night.
