"Jesy! Wake up!!" Jas pokes my side and hisses next to me.

I jolt awake and rub me side.

"Ow! What did you do that for?" I groan.

"The bell rang five minutes ago. Class is over. You slept through the whole period." She says.

My eyes widen in shock.

I slept the whole period and didn't even realize it?

"It's not my fault. It's Erick's." I say lazily.

"Last night we were chatting till nearly 3 a.m." I explain when she shoots me a quizzical look.

I couldn't sleep and apparently neither could he so we texted till until my hands were too tired to move and I ended up falling asleep in that position.

I woke up with a cramp in my neck.

"Who asked you to do that? Let's go now. We have practice." She says, getting up.

"Already?" I ask.

Jas glares at me.

I look at her sheepishly and we head to court.

"Jessica, do you have the list ready?" Coach Robyn asks.

Oh shit.

I forgot all about that.

I'm putting the blame on Erick.

"Y-yeah. I can give it to you after practice." I say hastily.

Coach eyes me and then nods her head.

"Okay. Let's start practice. The first inter school match is against Oakwoods High next Friday. We'll be visiting their school. I want all of you to practice until I announce the final team." She says, looking directly at me.

"This is all your fault." I hiss at Erick.

"Mine? How?" He asks, confused.

I mock his confused look.

"You were the one who kept me up till 3 a.m. yesterday." I say.

"It's not my fault! You were the one who texted back!"

"How could I have not?! You would have kept bombarding my phone with messages!" I defend.

"You two fight like an old married couple and your not even a couple." Jake comments.

"Oh shut it!" Erick and I snap at him in unison.

"Jessica, Erick, may I have your attention please?" Coach asks pointedly.

We give her a sheepish look and turn our attention to her.

Soon, she sets us up into teams and we play a match for the hell of it.

The teams are: Erick, Jas, Kendra, Andrea, Tyler, and Zeke on one side and Nai, Ricky, Kyle, Hailee, Jake and I on the other.

We start losing towards the end, with Jas' team in the lead.

Just when there's no hope for our team, I spike the ball and Erick tries to toss it back, but misses.

We win.

Our team cheers and congratulates each other.

Jas says coldly, "Well played."

"You too." Jake says, grinning and hugging her.

"So, Lopez, do I get a victory kiss?" Kyle asks me cheekily.

"I should think not." Erick says, glaring at him.
