"Whatever Caden Bartholomew Jensen," I pause. "Or should I say Barth?" I smile at him teasingly.

"Hold up." He points at me. "How do you know my middle name?"

"Like you said Cay, I've known you since we were nine, obviously I'm going to know your middle name." I recall. "Now," I clap my hands. "What were you saying?"

"Anyways!" He runs a hand through his hair dramatically. "Let's do something you've never done before."

"Uh why?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"Because it'll be fun!" He reasoned. "Come on Aven!"

"Okay well I don't know how to skate." I mumble slightly flushed for some reason. He looks at me with a cocky smirk.

"Skate? Like you don't know how to ride a skateboard?" He presses. I nod. "I'm surprised," he admits. "Who knew Aven wasn't a miss know it all." He teases. "I mean," he dramatically looks out the window like he's in a movie. "I guess I can teach you." He pretends to frown but from the tone he used I can tell he is more than excited.

"Let me hold onto your shoulders!" I exclaim as I try to stand on the skateboard without falling, now Caden and I at the skatepark. Carefully he places my hands on to his shoulders holding onto my waist to steady me.

"Okay." He mutters to himself. "Okay Aven you got this girlie!" He hyped me up. Slowly he takes my hands off his shoulders and ends up holding my hand, guiding me down a random sidewalk. "Your good Aven." He whispers towards me.

"Yeah, yeah I totally got this!" I smile, our faces only inches away. My gaze discreetly transferring towards his lips before quickly looking away after a second, scared to be caught staring. "Okay Cay! Let me try by myself." His hands hesitantly lets go of mine. "I need to let my inner independent self out!" I whisper shout.

"Yeah let it all out Aven!" He encourages, watching me with so much proudness I practically melt right there.

Slowly, I start to skate slowly and then adding more force, after getting the hang of it. Now skating through the sidewalk for awhile, heading back towards Caden who has a bright smile on his gorgeous face.

This is real embarrassing because being so distracted looking at him, the front skateboard hits him, causing myself to fall into Caden.

Yeah this would be cute if it wasn't so sudden and Caden actually seen it coming because not only did I fall but Caden as well, landing us both on the floor. We both wince loudly in pain, my head basically nuzzled into Caden's arms.

"Well aren't you just wonderful!" He jokes.

"Okay that's my bad," I said, laughing slightly but instantly stopping when I start to feel a sharp pain near the side of my head. "I really thought I got the hang of it."

"Don't stress about it, if it mean anything I thought you did great." Of course it means something. I have absolutely know clue why were still laying on the floor but I don't protest. Until of course it starts to rain.

"Well we should head out now." I get up, Caden following.

"Wait," he touches my arm, stopping my movement as he looks up at the raining sky. "Heaven Thea Carter," he looks down at me. The way he's smiling at me makes me think maybe everything we'll be okay. "Would you like to have this dance?"

"Uh," I look at the sky. "It's raining." I point to the sky, looking back at him skeptically.

"No Aven I didn't notice that." He exaggerates. "Come on Aven! Please be a cliche with me?" He holds out his hand and after a moment of debating inside me head, I give in and I have no idea how his smile grew bigger when I took his hand.

I shyly look down at my shoes before laughing joining him as the both of us start to laugh, not caring about anyone or anything around us just two teenagers dancing in the rain on a Wednesday evening.

Caden looks at me, with such admiration lighting up in his beautiful bright green eyes. He pulls me closer like he's afraid that I might disappear any moment. Both of our hair and clothes are soaked now. But the both of us couldn't care less right now as he twirled me around.

Having him close to me is the only thing I can wish for right now. I don't want anything else in this exact moment just him and I dancing in the middle of a random sidewalk.

Caden slightly leaning in, I follow this movement. Feeling his wet lips on mine and slowly and carefully moved in sync. I'm being deadass when I say I fricking felt it! You know the damn sparks around my whole damn body. And let me tell you something it feels like your whole body is lighten up for the fist time in forever. He twirled a strand of my hair around his finger.

I'm standing on the top of my tippy toes trying to match his height even though he's leaning down. I let out a small chuckle, feeling his smirk at the sound. Both of us pulling away slowly, both caught in a slight daze just staring at each other.

Before we can say a word a ringing sound starts to come from my pocket. I sign in frustration, quickly pulling my phone out.

Dad?

"Hello," I breath out as I answer the phone.

"H- Heaven h-he's alive!"
