When the papers are placed in front of them, Joe looks at Taylor one last time before signing onto them. She watches him doing so and it feels like a part of her body is dying. She gulps down again. Her mouth feels dry. This shouldn't be such a big deal but it's killing her. He passes her the pen. She takes it with her shaky hands and gives her signatures on them too.
"Now you two can go in separate ways." No no no.
"It's over," Taylor whispers to herself and leaves the room immediately.
Joe follows her from behind but stops midway as she goes to the women's washroom. He waits outside for her. He is suffering too but he needs to be strong to handle her in this delicate situation. He needs to place this sorrow with something else soon so that she can finally stop hurting herself. Good thing is that he has already plans for that.
"Are you okay?" He asks her when she comes out.
She nods and starts walking faster towards the car, "I just want to go home."
"Okay home then," He tries to calm her down.
Once they are at home, Taylor immediately runs to the bedroom and starts the tv. She honestly doesn't know what she's doing at this point. She's just a mess right now. Joe follows her and and sits down at the edge of the bed, trying to understand whatever she's thinking. She looks so pale it's worrying him.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm good," She nods her head obnoxiously.
"You know it's okay not to be alright," He tries to make a conversation with her. She needs to drop this act of being perfectly fine. "Look at me, I'm feeling sad about this. It's okay to be sad about this."
"I can't believe we just got divorced. So like I'm not your mrs. Alwyn anymore?" She cries out with a chuckle. She's trying to hide the hot tears with her laughter but damn they won't stop.
"Babe," Joe sighs pulling her into a hug, "It's alright."
"It's not alright Joe," She shoves his body away from her, "Nothing is alright here. NOTHING." She starts screaming. Hot tears starts streaming down her face. He gives her space to talk, to vent out about her feelings. At least it's better than staying silent while suffering.
"Why do you act like everything is perfect all the time? Nothing is perfect. I'm not perfect. Just because you are perfect doesn't mean that everybody else will be perfect too. Stop this shit. Stop these philosophy talks." She starts screaming at him but he remains silent.
"I hate this. I hate my life. Just when I was trying to get a grip on my life you went on and ruined it. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT. I'm suffering because of you. YOU." She throws the remote away which causes a showpiece fall and break on the floor.
"I hate that I can't live without you, you and your stupid love. I hate that I'm so fragile for you. I hate you for making me feel this way. I feel so clingy and needy around you because I just can't get enough of you. All because of you. And still after all this I can't gain your trust. I hate you Joe. I hate you so much."
"Taylor stop," Joe speaks out and holds her into his arms again but she tries to fight away.
"Sorry for not being perfect," She finally gives in and sobs on his shoulder. He holds her closer.
"Nobody is perfect. Neither am I," He starts making circles on her back.
"I hate this."
"I'll try to make it upto you I promise. I'm the one who fucked this up and I will fix it."
"But what if it's too late Joe?"
"What are you talking about? If we want to be together, nothing can stop us."
