Invisible String

A lie

After having lunch Taylor and Joe decide to go to Andrea's house directly. Joe calls Wendy to let her know that they'll have the dinner at Andrea's house. Its an one hour long journey so Tom's driving. Taylor is so excited to meet her mom. She has so many stories to tell. She smiles remembering how her mother said Joe is a perfect match for her. But at that time she had just rolled her eyes at her mom's cheesy words, now look at her being in love with that same guy. Time is so mystical. She also can't wait to meet her cats. Meredith and Olivia. Her two young sophisticated daughters. She's going to take them home with her today. She had to leave them behind because it was such an overwhelming situation with her marriage. And after that everything happened in such a wild pace that she didn't get the time to bring them to her. But now everything's at peace. She's finally happy with everything. She looks beside to see Joe's handsome face. He still has that frown visible on his expression. Something is bothering him for sure. She needs to give him some space though. He will say it when he wants to. She's not going to pressurize him about anything. But he needs to know that she's always there for him. No matter what. She's sure that something is wrong because she noticed how he closed his laptop abruptly when she came near him. He's hiding something. It can be a surprise too, maybe. So she better not ask him anything about it now. She just gives him a tight squeeze with her hand that's intertwined with his. He looks at her and smiles gently.

After an hour of driving, they reach Andrea's house. Taylor wanted to give her a surprise but later thought it can be a bad idea if her mom decides to go somewhere in the meantime. So she called her before coming. Joe rings the doorbell and seconds later Andrea appears with a big smile.

"Hi guys," Andrea squeals seeing them together.

"Mom, hi. I missed you so much," Taylor gives her a tight hug and Joe watches them from behind with a smile.

"Hi Andrea," He says and wraps her in a hug too.

"I'm so glad that you two decided to show up finally. Come in," Andrea says moving aside, "Austin said he's on his way. He got so excited when I told her you're coming."

"Oh that's nice. Where's dad?" Taylor asks her mom as they sit down in the living area.

"He has a tennis match today so he's there. I texted him that you guys are coming but I don't know if he's seen or not, he gets pretty invested in stuffs when he's with friends you know," Andrea says and they laugh.

"Where are my daughters?" Taylor asks being dramatic and Joe chuckles.

"They're upstairs in your room. That's their favorite place. I tried to move them around but they don't like my room."

"They're pretty vip cats you know," Taylor says looking at Joe.

"Of course your cats are gonna be like you," He replies laughing and Andrea joins him.

Taylor just rolls her eyes and then their conversation goes on. A while later, Meredith and Olivia come downstairs and sit on the couch like real people. Joe starts laughing at their weird behavior. Taylor caresses their bellies and they start purring. Especially Olivia. Meredith still seems to hate her though. Well Taylor doesn't mind. She loves them both equally. Austin comes home an hour later and their conversation still goes on. They talk about family, business and stuff. They also talk about Andrea's health issues, Austin's movies, their trip to Paris etc.

"You guys must be tired now, go get freshen up I'll start making the dinner," Andrea says and Taylor nods.

"Yeah let's go to my room," She smiles and gets up carrying Olivia. She tried to carry Meredith too but she seems moody right now. Joe gets up as well to go upstairs with her. He takes his coat in hand and places his other hand on Taylor's back. She lets out a sigh in satisfaction when they reach her room. She missed this room so much. Joe looks around to see her well decorated cozy room. It smells just like her. He's been here before when they were in high school. But she has changed many things in here. He lets his body fall onto the mattress with a groan. Taylor laughs at him and goes to the washroom. After getting freshen up she comes back to the room and her mouth falls open seeing the situation in front of her. Is she dreaming or is this real?
