𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 woke up, her head pounding and her body warm. Her eyes traveled around the room she was in, not recognizing the large room she was in. The puzzled girl laid down on the bed again, too tired to move any limb in her body, having comfort in the soft pillow. Evangeline turned her head to see a blurry figure, she shot up instantly and stared at the man.

Nathan stopped walking towards her and peered intently at her. He stood there shirtless, with a lone grey towel wrapped around his torso and a smaller towel thrown onto his shoulder. The corner of his lip turned upwards, smirking as he noticed Eva checking him out. Feeling her cheeks redden, she averted her eyes and noticed her change of clothes. The white nightgown fit her body loosely, the sleeves reaching her fingertips and the material bunching up at her waist.

She snapped out of her daze and watched as her classmate threw a dress her way before saying, "We have school in an hour, dollface. Those are Gina's clothes, by the way, keep them if you want." Eva grabbed onto the dress, admiring the pink floral dress's soft fabric. Eva tilted her head, "W-why am I here?" Nathan shrugged. He scurried through a nightstand, passing a bottle of water to her. "You tell me," he responded, pursing his lips.

"Tell you what?" she asked, furrowing her eyebrows. Nathan sighed, shifting his posture and stared into her eyes, "Tell me why I found you high as fuck in the school parking lot." Evangeline frowned, the memories from yesterday replayed in her mind. She choked out a small sob, hating herself for how dumb and insecure. Tears brimmed her eyes as Nathan watched her, fixating his gaze on each tear that poured from her eyes. "L-Lufer," she mustered out, bringing the blanket to her face and wiping away the stream of tears.

He narrowed his eyes, snatching his phone from the end table and walked out of the room, furiously tapping at his screen. Evangeline got up from the bed, observing his room. The rustic room was framed with several windows and she stared through his clear balcony door, counting each fancy-looking homes that surrounded his. Her nightgown slipped down to her feet and she wore the flower stained dress. She hummed a tune, a visible smile on her lips as she spun in front of the large mirror in the corner of the room.

"Cute dance, doll."

Evangeline gasped, spinning around to see Nathan looking her up and down. He was now wearing a black t-shirt, "The 1975" logo plastered onto it with khaki pants. She looked away, crossing her arms, and mumbled, "I need to do my hair." Nathan's eyes twinkled and he walked to the bed, sitting on it and patting the space beside him. She fidgeted as she walked towards him, her head down in shame for not knowing how to style her own hair. Her back faced him and she relaxed at his touch. He grabbed a cone from his pocket, running his long fingers through her hair before gently combing out the small knots that formed in her hair.

The room was silent, so silent you could hear the neighbour's dogs barking aggressively at each other. Nathan finished braiding her hair, sliding it down her shoulder. He stood up tall, smiling to himself proudly as Eva read the clock. Her eyes widen and she glanced at him, "W-we're gonna be late!" she shrieked in horror, not wanting to be late for school ever again. Nathan threw his head back, chuckling, "Calm down, dollface. We can take my motorbike."

He unlocked the door, stepping out of the room, waiting for Eva to follow. She left the room, her eyes glistened as she took in the extravagant home. Nathan was already down the flight of scares, waiting impatiently for her to come down. His fingers tapped against the glossy rails and Evangeline rushed down. "Goodbye, boy," Eva heard a soft voice call out. She looked towards the direction, seeing a woman in her early thirties, an apron wrapped around her waist.

"See ya, Gina," Nathan responded, nodding at her as she directed her eyes to Eva. The housekeeper turned away, used to the girls Nathan would bring over for the night.

The young pair walked out to the driveway, the sound of cars roaring and starting up enveloping Evangeline's ears. Mesmerized by the colourful passing cars, she was taken out of her daze seeing Nathan hold out a shiny black helmet. Nathan hopped into the cushioned seat, turning around to see the frightened girl stare down his black motorcycle. Rolling his eyes, he opened his mouth, saying, "Get on, Hartz. You don't wanna be late, you said?"

Evangeline's mouth turned into a frown as she reluctantly sat behind him. "G-go slow, okay?" she whispered, wrapping her arms around his body and leaning into his back. Nathan sucked in his teeth, sparks crawling up his spine, savoring the moment. He revved the motorcycle, steering the handlebars out of the large front yard.

Nathan sped up the pace, hearing Eva whimper against him and sighed. She straightened her back, feeling her body be caressed by the moving wind. She looked at the passing buildings and homes, enjoying the thrilling movement. Zooming through the red light, Nathan's body tensed as her arms clutched around him tightly.

Some time had passed and Eva was in her own world. Her eyes fluttered open as they came to a sudden stop.

"We're here, doll."
