I walked away from the reception, my breath uneasy and my hands were shaky. I had gotten my keys to my new dorm room. It was my first term at this school and it had only been a week since I was here. I've made no friends, none at all, but I liked it that way.
I unlocked the beige door, sighing in relief as no one was in there. I knew I had a roommate, I just really hoped it wasn't one of those types of girls, you know? My phone rang and I averted my eyes to see Connor calling me. A smile formed on my lips, he was one of my only friends I've made in my life that actually cared about me. He was a science nerd kid, so bubbly and chatty, and was friends with nearly everyone. Honestly, I don't even know how we connected so well, we are so different.
"Heyyyyyy E! How d'you like your new school?" He spoke, causing me to frown. I really wished he didn't ask me that, I had nothing to say. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. I shook my head, telling myself that he's never judged me, and mumbled, "Um... it's good."
"So, any new friends? Maybe a boyfriend?! You're not gonna cheat on me, right?" he asked, cheekily. I gasped, "B-boyfriend?! You're not my-"
"I know, I know. Just messing with you, E," he responded. It was awkward, I hated talking through the phone. "Well, um, I need to go unpack..." I said, hoping we would say our goodbyes. A few seconds passed and I heard nothing from him. I glanced down and noticed he hung up and I felt tears well down my cheeks. Did I say something wrong? Wiping away my tears, I unzipped my luggage and pulled out a black hoodie. My luggage was mainly filled with books and only 5 pieces of clothing, I loved reading and it was my escape from this crazy world.
"Eva?! Yes, we're roommates!" I heard a familiar voice say. Glancing towards the voice, I saw Elizabeth dressed in a white skirt with a red crop top. She was in my economy class that I had twice per week and every single time she has tried talking to me but to no avail. She wasn't annoying at all, just a bit too.. loud. I flashed a fake smile, looking down at the hoodie.
Putting on my hoodie, I realized she walked right behind me. I moved out of the way, and she inspected my luggage. "Is this all you brought?" she asked, tapping her fingers gently on a hardcover of a book. I took a deep breath and parted my lips to talk when Elizabeth said, "You should borrow some of my clothes! I have too many anyways.." she trailed off. It was nearly 9 am and I had my Literature class. I smiled to myself and tied my hair into a ponytail. My mood changed instantly, I loved literature and the teacher was super nice.
"Aren't you gonna change, Eva?" I heard Elizabeth laugh, waving a pink skirt, too short for my liking and an oversized white t-shirt. I shrugged, "But I like what I'm wearing.." I mumbled, pouting. "Aww, you're so cute!" she squealed, "But those clothes really aren't hun, you have stains at the back!"
I frowned and walked towards where she laid down the clothes. I stripped out of my old clothes and wore the really short skirt and t-shirt. My eyes traveled towards the clock and widened. I'm late! I bit my bottom lip and rushed out of the dorm room, hearing the faded giggles from Elizabeth.

I entered the classroom quietly, seeing my teacher, Mrs Chart raise an eyebrow. "Late, Ms Hartz?" Tears brimmed my eyes and I looked down in shame as I felt everyone's eye on me. "I'm sorry," I whispered, barely audible. I peered towards Mrs Chart and saw her flash a small smile, "It's alright, take a seat and get your notes from last week out please."
My eyes danced across to room and I felt my heart drop as my seat in the front was taken by somebody else. The only space left was at the back and I quickly made my way there. Taking out my notebook, I realised I was sitting by Nathan. He was the captain of the soccer team and decided to make it his mission to tease and annoy me as soon as I joined this school. I've learnt to ignore him and not take his comments towards me seriously even though I was as sensitive as a butterfly.
Scraping his chair against the wooden floor, Nathan inched towards me. He leaned back into his chair, eyes locked onto me as he observed my body. I instantly looked down to my thighs and curse you Elizabeth for the short skirt! I gasped as his hand made contact with my thigh. His thumb rubbed against my skin and my breath hitched. Our eyes locked and a sly smirk formed on his lips. I tried to ignore his touching and looked towards the board, but fumbled to copy the words onto my paper.
My knee suddenly hit the table as Nathan's fingers circled my clit through my panties. He snatched his arm away and the people in front of us turned around, causing the teacher to turn our way. "Is everything alright there?" I nodded, looking out of the window while Nathan chuckled to himself.
She instructed us to read a few pages so I popped in my airpods Connor had given me a while back, forgetting Nathan was right next to me. I played 'In my feelings' by Lana Del Rey and hummed quietly to the lyrics. I was fully emerged into the book when suddenly Nathan grabbed an airpod from my ear and held it close to his. My body froze, heat burning through me, hoping he didn't understand the lyrics.

I shook my head no and he leaned closer to me, "Didn't know you were such a freak, Hartz.." he started again, "That's kinda hot." Finally, the bell rang and he handed me my airpod back, grazing his hand on mine which sent sparks up my body. I stayed in my seat as he walked out of the room, embarrassed and cold. What the heck! I'm not a freak, I think. I was just listening to music!
Removing the song from my phone, I got up and stumbled out to my next class.
