James' POV

The room held an eerie silence. The tension was so thick I bet you could cut through it with a knife.

I looked at Grace and it pained me to see her like this. She was on the verge of crying but refused to let it out.

"It's not like that" the woman spoke.

"Save the bullshit" she answered back to her mother.

My father stood looking between the two still and emotionless.

"I am your mother you should respect me" she repeat.

"You didn't even know if I was alive" she said back.

"I lost track of you"

"STOP LYING TO ME!" Grace shouted and tears began streaming down her face.

I rubbed her shoulder and she buried her face in my neck and started sobbing.

"Leave" my father's voice rang out and he looked directly at her mother.

"W-" "I asked you to leave" her mother stood tall and left the room followed by the rest of the white haired people.

"You have my permission" my father spoke softly.

"Wait. What are we talking about here?" My mother asked.

"I give them my permission to be mates with one condition" he spoke again.

"And what might that be?" I asked still holding Grace closely.
