James' POV
I rubbed my hand against her broken wrist. One of the doctors mention how fast she was healing because of me being close to her. I hadn't got an appetite so I laid there all day and night waiting for her to wake up.
Two weeks later with barely any sleep and food there was finally a sign of interaction. A soft moan left her mouth and she gave my hand a light squeeze.
"Are you awake?" I called out.
A soft moan again with another squeeze but this time it was tighter. Her eyes blinked open and shut immediately after with a groan.
I blocked the light away from her eyes as she opened them again. She started crying as her grip on my hand tightened.
"Shhhh it's fine don't cry" I wiped her tears away and a doctor came in for the morning check up.
"Oh you're awake" he said with a smiled.
"How are you feeling?" He asked reading the machines.
She spoke but it came out barely as a whisper.
"She can't feel her lower half and her neck aches" I repeated.
"Oh okay so let's move her okay?" The doctor said to me and I nodded.
