Broken
That is
A small piece of the original whole
I fall deep into the void
I stand tall
I held fire
Flickering in the moonlight
The flame rose high into the night sky
Illuminating the lost world below
All shadows, all darkness gone
All cares and misdeeds shown
Because I held fire, flickering in the moonlight
This world is broken
A shadow of the greatness it once was
Now, cares and kindness are hidden
Misdeeds and evil forgiven
Shadows, darkness, greater than the light
I held fire, flickering in the moonlight
Someday we may fine
The glue, the tape, the fixer upper
Was right in front of us
I held fire flickering in the moonlight
I held it high above my head
Illuminating the beauty, the cruelty
Of the natural world
Someday, we may be united once again
Though it seems impossible
Perhaps if we work together
And uncover the real problems
We will be as amazing as we once were
Maybe all it will take is me
Holding fire, letting it rage and light up the night sky
