They told us there were gods
Living in a far off place, never interacting with us
Yet they controlled our fate
We laughed and called them crazy
Never believing that one day fate would come knockingThe gods were angry
They heard blasphemy and contempt among their people
They heard us
One day they came, weapons drawn, armies marching at their backs
And silenced usThey told us they were gods, ancient and kind
Smiling at us as we laughed and called them crazy
Far off in the distance we heard a wild howl
And screamed as they transformed
Into terrifying men
And destroyed us again
