This episode was so stressful. My poor baby Lydia went through so much this season

"Can I ask you a question?" Kira asked Malia from the other side of the bench

"Can I ask you a question?" Kira asked Malia from the other side of the bench.

The surface was covered in glass from at least fifteen lightbulbs. Malia and I, while trying to be supportive, had resorted to moving a couple of metres back so that we were out of the blast radius. I kept the textbook at the ready, and Malia had found a pair of safety goggles so at least if she got glass in the face again, there was no chance it would hit her eyes.

She would heal, but the injury and the process of healing it wouldn't exactly be pleasant.

Malia had her hands crossed as she sat on a stool beside me, choosing to answer rather bluntly with a, "No."

Kira didn't care too much, however, asking her anyway. "Did your mother really try to kill you?"

"Did your mother try to leave you in the desert with Skinwalkers?" Malia countered, clearly not wanting to discuss this topic.

"Are you really going to try and kill her first?"

"Are you really going to keep trying to change the subject?" I asked.

With a sigh, Malia removed the safety goggles and walked over to the bench. Standing up and placing the textbook on the stool, I followed her lead and joined them both.

"Why'd you take off the goggles?" Kira asked my sister.

Malia gave her a firm look, leaving no space for doubt. "Because this time you're gonna do it. And it's gonna work. Because this is the only way we're getting Lydia out of Eichen House."

The Kitsune took a moment, taking a moment to herself, before nodding and placing her hands on the wires again. The light in the bulb began to dim, and Malia and I shared a happy glance.

"Kira, it's working," Malia informed the girl.

Opening her eyes with a wide smile, Kira looked at the bulb. Unfortunately, she got too excited, and the bulb burst, shattering along with every light in the room.

Remembering we were at the school, I quickly picked up my bag. "We should probably go now."

"Yeah," Kira agreed, abandoning the light and rushing out of the classroom alongside Malia and me.

We retreated to Scott's house as quickly as possible, not wanting to be anywhere near the school. On our way out, we realised that Kira hadn't just taken out the lights in the science room, but the whole school. And then leaving the school lead us to realise that it had gone even further than that.

Kira was powerful, there was no denying that. She had managed to get close enough to the brownout, and for now, we needed to hope it would be enough because that's all we had.
