Twirling around

Standing in front of the mirror
Keep on looking ahead
As I try putting on
This suffocating dress
I know I'll dance all night
Twirling around in the hands
Of thousands of strangers
Under lights that are too bright
The room will feel too big
The music will be too loud
But I will suffer through it
Not making any sounds
I will put on my best show
That's what they'll expect
Tightening my shoes now
Nothing less than perfect
At last, I put on my mask
Endless smiles and soft eyes like
I enjoy these strangers' hands
On my body while we dance
Only if I'd allow you to come near
You would see my eyes clouded with fear
So please keep your distance
Twirl me around once more
And I will dance for you
Like a perfect little doll
Porselain skin and soft pink lips
Perhaps you even get a kiss
Then I'll smile so bright
And blow you another
But don't even bother
To find me once again
No matter how hard you try
As soon as the lights go out
I'll disappear into the night
I'll leave you with mystery
And that girl from the party
With the bright smiles and pretty eyes?
Somewhere during the evening
She has already died
