Chapter 14

I stare blankly at her. I only had one sister and her name was Alena. She died when she was six and I was five. One day I was at the park with my mom. Then my dad calls and says that she got hit by a car and she died on impact. I walked closely to her. My dad lied about everything. So what if she is my sister? I looked at her in the eyes. I can just feel that she is Alena. I gulp. “Alena?” I questioned. She begins to cry and hugs me. I fall into her hug. I begin to cry with her. “Dad said you died.” I cried into her shoulders. She just shook her head and looked up at me. “He sold me to the wolf hunters Xavier. They taught me how to fight and to protect myself. Couple years ago I ran away trying to find my way back home.” She informs. I cry harder and pull her closely to me. “I missed you so much.” She cried. “Wait so you have a sister?” Callum asked confused. We both turn and looked at Callum.  “Who is the dumb witch?” She asked. “Hey now that is rude.” Callum crossed his arms. “That is Callum and his best friend Ryder.” I said and turn to Ryder. My sister begins to smile. “And also Ryder is my boyfriend.” I added. “I know I can see.” Alena said sarcastically. “Are you going to stay?” I asked. “Maybe. Just take me home.” She demanded. I nodded. “Do you mind taking us home?” I asked Ryder. He nodded and we walked to his car. “How long have you and wolf boy been together?” Alena asked from the back seat. “Not long.” I responded. Ryder’s eyes start to glow red. “OH MY GOD!” My sister screamed. “What?!” Ryder and I asked at the same time. “You are Ryder’s mate!” She smile big. I laughed and kept staring out the window. She leans forward looking at the both of us. “Have you guys mated yet?” She asked Ryder and turned to me. Will you just sit back and shut up.” I demanded. She giggled and sat back in the seat. We pulled in front of the house and I see mom’s car in the driveway still. We got out and headed for the door. I opened the door and looked for my mom. “Mom?” I yelled. “What are you doing home?” She came walking from the living room. I looked to Alena. “Who is this?” Mom asked in anguish. “Looks like dad lied when he said Alena died. He sold her to the hunters.” I told her. She dropped her phone and ran up to Alena. They both began to cry. “Mom, you’re hurting me.” Alena screeched. “I’m sorry. You just grew up to look so beautiful.” She cried hugging her tighter. “I missed you mom.” Alena hugs her back tighter. We all sat in the kitchen talking. But mom gave Alena food first and she ate so much like she hasn’t ate for years. “What did the hunters do to you?” Ryder asked. “I’ll just start from the beginning.” She says and finished up eating. “Ok…. It started off when you guys went to the park. Dad told me we were going to get ice cream and he ended up taking me out into the woods. When we arrived there stood about five guys. I got scared and tried to run but a guy stopped me standing from behind me. They told me that I was their family now. I cried for dad but he just drove off. We drove for about an hour and finally made it at their place along the beach. It was secluded. Not a house for about 8 miles. Every day they taught me to fight, to run, and to get stronger and faster. I started off running. Then Went to lifting weights. After that came the balance. Breathing in the air and concentrating on balance. I had a trainer. He treated me so nicely. He didn’t want to teach me because they knew I would be used. We became friends. He was 18 I think when I was turned 12. My training begun exactly when I turned 12. He told me to do what He says and he will get me out of here. He taught me everything. I know things about my body that I never thought was possible. His name was Gus. I looked up to him like a brother. Every day we would run another mile. Soon I could run 10 miles in 25 minutes. I have gotten so fast it was crazy. That’s when he knew I was ready to run and go back home never looking back. But I forgot where and how to get here. He told me to run along the beach until I reached tons of rocks. Then after run up into the woods going to the nearest down. That’s when I seen Xavier talking to some girl with long blonde hair and a guy with a motorcycle. It was two months ago. Gus gave me a picture of Xavier so I know what he looked like. After a mile I heard a gunshot. That’s when I knew Gus was dead because of me. He sacrificed his self in order to protect me. I cried and kept running. I followed Xavier everywhere. Protecting him, looking after him in case the hunters come back. I waited until now to see if the hunters would come back. I didn’t want you to get involved. But I just sucked it up. And here I am.” She informs. We all stare at her in shock. “Do you… are you… Do you know if you have an ability to do something?” I mumbled awkwardly. “Do you mean like a wolf, a witch or whatever?” She asked. “Yeah.” I responded. She scratches the back of her head. She is hiding something. I know she is. “No. I wish though. I am just a fighter.” She giggles. Ryder reaches over and grabs my hand. He squeezes it. He is letting me know she is hiding something. At least he seen it too. “Ryder and I have somewhere to be. I am sorry, I really am. But I’ll be back later. I’ll call and let you know if anything changes.” I tell mom and smile at Alena. “Where you going?” Alena asked. I laughed and rolled my eyes. I walked up to her and grab her chin. She looked up at me. “Until you tell me what you really are, I will not tell you anything. For all I know, you could be lying and be working for the hunters. Same as dad is right now.” I smiled and tossed her head to the side. She grabs my arm and tries to turn me around. I reach from my other arm and slam her to the ground. “I am not the same brother you used to know. I became an ass.” I point out. She punches me in the face. My mom tries to stop her but she pushes my mom away. I take the tranquilizer from my pocket and slam it into her neck. She collapses to the ground and starts to sleep. “Are you ok?” I asked mom. “Fine.” She says picking herself up from the floor. “Ryder? What are you doing?” I asked. He is standing by the window looking out. “Hunters…. There here…..” He says and runs from the window. “We need to leave. Now!” He shouts at us. I turn to mom and she is staring at Alena. “Mom…” I say gently. She has her hands over her face. What is she doing? I asked myself. “She is a cougar.” Mom says and looks at me. The door slams open and two guys come walking in. “Ryder stay back.” I tell him. “Close your ears.” I added. I begin to scream louder and louder and louder until breaking the glass. They fall to the ground and their ears start to bleed. They scream in pain and discomfort. “XAVIER!” Shouted my mom. I stopped screaming and looked to her then looked back towards the two guys. “What do you guys want?” I demanded. “My daughter.” Dad says walking inside the house. “Get the hell out of here.” I demanded. He turns to my mom. They stare at each other and she pulls out a gun. “He said to leave.” She demanded. My dad nodded and the hunters left. “A wolf only listens to his mate.” My mom informs once again. “Where did you get a gun?” Asked Ryder. “I have to protect myself someway besides screaming every single time.” She laughs. My sister is looking at me blankly. “You are a banshee.” My sister points out. I nodded and walked up to her. She gulps. “What are you not telling us?” I asked. My mom pulls me away and says, “Xavier, she is telling you everything besides the Cougar part.” “How do you know?” I asked. “Because I felt it. A banshee’s feelings are always correct. They tell you things and you have to listen to them because they are always right.” My mom informs. “How do I not know you are going to just use us to kill some wolfs?” I asked. “I am not. I came back so I can be your sister again.” She shouted. “We’ll see.” I smile and grab Ryder’s hand. We walked to his car and drove off. “She’s telling the truth.” Ryder pointed out. “I know. I am just playing hard to get.” I laugh at Ryder. We pull into Ryder’s driveway and got out. I feel something bad is about to happen. I turn around and see a black suv with tented windows. They start their car and started to drive off. I grabbed my knife from my shoe and threw it at the tire. “What the hell are you doing?” Asked Ryder. I ignored him walking over to the car. I opened the door and I couldn’t believe it. It was Callum’s father.
