Chapter 10

My heart starts beating extremely fast. It seems like I am going to barph. I never been this nervous before. Breathe Xavier Breathe. I kept telling myself. I began playing the piano. I waited until it was time to sing. And when I did, it was like no one was watching. I was no longer nervous. I look up and see Ryder. He has a smile that lights up the whole room. He must like the song very well. I give it all I got so I don’t make a fool out of myself. I got louder and louder then I became quieter so the music comes more soother. “I have you nowwwwwwwwww.” I singed the last part and took a big breathe. Everyone applauded loudly and I began to cry.  I never felt this way before. Everyone staring at me and they fell in love with my song. I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe I just conquered my fear. This feeling feels beyond anything I have ever felt. The manager comes walking up on stage. “Now how did you love that?” He sked in excitement and everyone screamed. I couldn’t believe it. Not only they loved me, but hey I get a free meal. What could get better than that? The manager turns to me and smiles greatly. “Your dinner is on us tonight son.” He shook my hand. I walked down from the stage and everyone is smiling at me. Ryder stands up and I give him the biggest hug ever. “Thank you so much.” I said in his chest. “Anytime love.” He responded and kissed my forehead. Ryder then sat me down and we waited for the waitress to arrive. “You was incredible. I did not see that coming from someone as young as you.” She says and smiles at me.  “Thank you.” I smiled back. “Now how bout you guys tell me what would you like?” She demanded. “I would like a steak.” Ryder says. “And how would you like that?” “Rare.” He smiled. EW, rare? He must really like his meat bloody. “I would like the Linguini.” I smiled at the waitress. “Alright, I will be back once it is ready.” She says and walks away. I nodded and took a drink of my water. After singing my mouth became extremely dry and now I am extremely thirsty. “How did it feel up there?” Ryder asked.  I looked at him and gave him a smile. “It was something I have never felt before. More than words can explain. I am actually so happy you talked me into going up there. I couldn’t have done it without you.” He grabbed my hand from across the table. He begin making circles on my hand from his thumb. His touch becomes welcoming to me, so soothing. Once dinner has arrived we finished up eating and walked out towards his car. Right before he opens the door for me he pushes me against the car and begun kissing my neck. I let out a soft moan. He trails up from my neck to my lips. His lips are always so warm and welcoming. I bit down on his lip and pulled. He let out a moan. “I want to take you somewhere.” He says and puts me in the car. “Where you taking me?” I asked while he pulls out of the parking spot. “Just sit back and enjoy the ride my love.” He smiles at me. A couple weeks ago, I would never have seen myself where I am right now. Dating the star athlete, dating the werewolf. But I wouldn’t change it at all. We pull up where a trail through the woods first begins. “Are we going hiking at night?” I asked. “Get on my back.” He says looking to see if anyone is around. I hop onto his back and he takes off.  Running extremely fast. So fast, the wind hurts my face making it freeze. We make it to top of the mountain and you can see everything from up here. You can see all the way to Seattle. “Look at the moon.” He gestures. I look up and the moon looks extremely close. So close it is like you can touch it. Then I notice it is a full moon. “Are you going to turn?” I asked nervously. “At midnight.” He says slowly. I look at the time and it says 10:45 PM. “What happens when you turn?” I stutter. “I turn into a complete wolf. And if I don’t chain myself up, there is no stopping what my wolf will do.” He looks down at the ground. I begin to remember of this place my dad used to go to when we was little. Now it is abandoned and no one never goes there anymore. They have a cellar. It’s an old place out in the woods. It would be the safest place for him. “I know of a place. Come on.” I tell him and I hop back onto his back. He ran all the way back down and stopped at the car. “Do you mind if I drive?” I ask. He looked to me and started laughing. “What?” I asked. “Everyone knows they are to not drive my car.” “Oh….” “But, since you are mine, everything that is mine, is now yours.” He smiles. I look back up and gave him a smile before getting into the car. “Where are we going?” He asked. “I know somewhere that you will be safe.” I smiled at him, keeping my eyes on the road. “I don’t want you around me when I turn.” He mumbles softly. “Ryder, I am not leaving you.” I demanded. “I DON’T WANT YOU TO GET HURT XAVIER!” He shouts and I flinch. His eyes begin to turn red. “Calm down.” I demanded and his eyes turns back to normal. We pull into the long pathway to the warehouse. “I’ve been to this place.” Ryder says. “Really?” I asked. “Callum and I were here one time. He showed me what he can do with his black magic, and then I told him to stop using it because it could take over.” He informs. We get out of the car and I walk inside. “There is a cellar in the basement.” I pointed out. We walked down 20 flights of stairs before reaching the basement. Ryder puts a hand out in front of me and stops me. “Shh.” He says and listens. Then I hear chains coming from a room in the basement. I push past Ryder and walk towards the room. I turn the corner and see Logan. How did he know of this spot? I wondered. He looks up and stands there in shock. “What you doing here?” I ask. “I always come here when there is a full moon.” He informs. “Since when?” I ask. “For a couple years.” He tells me and I look to Ryder. “It’s not safe for you to be here.” Logan added. I stare him down and walk over to him. “I am not going anywhere. But if you do try to kill me, I will try to kill you.” I informed. Ryder started to laugh. “I’ll kill you too.” I winked at him. Then Logan started to laugh. “We are going to be in the cellar if you need anything.” I tell him and grab onto Ryder’s hand. We walked down the hall and down some more stairs before reaching the cellar. I open the door and rats start coming out. “Um, I don’t think anyone has been here for a while.” He says while covering his nose. “What gave you that idea?” I looked at him. “Alright smart ass.” He says and slaps my ass. I giggle and walked into the cellar. I turn the flashlight on my phone trying to look for a light. “I don’t see a light.” I pointed out. Then there comes lights inside the cellar. How in the world is this happening? “I thought that would help you see.” Said Callum. Sutton was standing behind him laughing. “Really people? Why can’t you just stay at home?” I asked and grabbed Ryder by the arm walking him into the cellar. Shay then comes walking in. “REALLY?!” I shout. “Wow, who pissed in your food at dinner?” Shay says and crosses her arms. “He is just mad because all of us are here.” Sutton informs her. “I am not mad, I am furious.” I say and turn back around. I started to chain Ryder up and he begins to laugh. “I didn’t know you liked kinky stuff.” He says and everyone started to laugh. I rolled my eyes and locked the final chain. “Will those break?” Asked Callum. “They shouldn’t.” I responded. “You guys need to find a secure spot to go to.” Ryder demanded. We nodded and go behind the cage in the Cellar. I look down at my phone and the time says 11:55. His eyes begin to turn red. He sits and waits until midnight. His eyes light up the whole room. They become even brighter when the time got close to midnight. Then midnight it came. He started to growl. His bones started to snap in half and he started to scream. I flinched. “I can’t see him go this.” I say and walk out. “XAVIER!” Yelled Callum. I turned back around seeing what he wanted. Then a scream from behind me scared me until I fell backwards. He fully turned and now he is walking closer to me. He started to growl viciously. I look him in the eye and he growled even more. “RYDER SIT!” I screamed on top of my lungs. Then I screamed and screamed until my banshee kicked in. Ryder laid down putting his paws over his ears. I looked back and everyone is looking at me scared. “Um….” Callum started to say. “What was….That…” Shay asked nervously. Oh gosh….. Why did I just do that? Now they know... Now I have to tell them what I am. I gulped and trying to figure out what to say. “I….I..I am a… banshee.” I finally said it. That felt good to get off my chest. “A banshee is supposed to be a girl.” Sutton points out. “Obviously not.” I responded. “I never heard someone scream so loud.” Callum says still in shock. “Well, at least I know that you are not human.” Shay laughs. I roll my eyes and turn back to Ryder. He is sitting there looking at me. His black fur and red eyes are surprisingly adorable together. He turns his head like a confused dog. He slowly walks towards me. I get scared and scoot against the wall and cover my face. Couple seconds went by and I slowly moved my hands away from face. Ryder jumped at me and started licking me. Everyone started laughing hysterically. “Oh my god! I so did not see that one coming!” Callum laughed harder. “Ryder SIT!” I tell him and he sits. “Ok…Hold the hell up. How can you get a vicious wolf to sit?!” Callum asked. “A wolf only listens to his mate.” Suttons informs. 4 am slowly comes by and everyone is out of it except me and Ryder. He still is a wolf. How long does this last for? I try to keep my eyes open. Then I hear the door slowly come open and Ryder starts to growl. I look from the corner and it was my mom.

“Mom?” I asked nervously. How did she know I was here? She is supposed to be working right now. And now she is going to know about Ryder. Oh god. What do I do? She walks closer to me and Ryder growls louder. “Ryder sit.” I tell him and he listens. “You’re his mate?” She asked me. “How did you know where I was?” I asked. “I heard your scream. I felt it. So I followed.” She tells me. “I…Um….” I began to say. “You don’t have to say anything sweetie.” She says and hugs me. I hug here tighter. “You can’t tell anyone about Ryder because……” I tried to figure out how to tell her dad was back as a wolf hunter. “Dad... You can’t tell because of dad…” She stares at me blankly. “What about your dad? What does he have to do with this?” Mom asked. “Dad is back. And….. He. Um…. Is a wolf hunter. Me and Ryder seen him today and when he showed us where he lived I looked into his office. I seen pictures of all the werewolf’s in Heavens Woods.” I inform her. She begins to cry. She kneels on the ground and cries harder. I kneel down beside her and hold her in my arms. “He got away because of them. And to see him working for him is like he left because he wanted to. Not because he needed too.” She cries in my shoulder. Shay wakes up and walks over. “Heather are you okay?” Asked Shay. I look up at her and tell her that she knows about my dad. She walks over on the other side of her and kneels next to her, holding her as well. Ryder turned his head looking confused again. Oh god, please don’t start licking at me again. He walks slowly to my mom. “Ryder.” I tell him and he kept walking closer. “Ryder!” I tell him and they looked at him. He lays down in front of my mom putting his head onto my mom’s lap. She laughs and starts petting him. “Ok, how is he doing that without ripping her head off?” Shay asked. “I don’t know….. Maybe he knows she is crying and she is my mom.” I try to figure out why he is doing that. Everyone falls asleep besides me and Ryder. I look down at the phone and it says 5:59. The sun should be coming up soon. That’s when he should turn back. He slowly starts to turn back to human. He lays naked with his head on my mother’s lap. She wakes up and gasps. “There is a blanket on that shelf.” Says my mom. I run up and covered him up. He looks at me and smiles. Then he was out. “When wolfs turn back to human, they are extremely exhausted from the pain. He will be sleeping most of today.” Mom informed me. She knows so much about wolf because of dad. I could really use her to know about wolfs. I lean against her and she holds me. She kisses my forehead and squeezes me tighter. I soon fell asleep.
