I have been wearing masks for 12 consecutive months now. After my brain surgery in November 2019, I suffered pneumonia in the ICU for 10 days. Concerned about my health, I started wearing masks after I was discharged from the hospital. I believe that wearing masks since December 2019 protected me from covid. Usually I get colds twice a year. Each cold lasted 3-4 weeks. No matter what kind of cold medicine and cough syrup I took, my cold lasted for almost a month. Surprisingly I did not catch a cold in 2020. The masks truly protected me from any virus. It's inconvenient to wear masks. I can't wear glasses because they fog up. My right eye is still technically blind from the blood clot my retina suffered from the aneurysm. My left eye has blurry vision and without my prescription glasses, it's really tough to go outdoors especially when it's snowing. Despite the inconvenience, I have decided to keep wearing masks even after this pandemic is over. I'd rather wear masks than catch another cold or worse a virus.
