13. Waynes story

"Wait he had to see all of that at ten ? " Kennedy questions
And maw nods

"Yep and that affected him more than he even knows " she shakes her head " anyways we take her in feed her , send her to rehab and get her back healthy again . Then about two years later juicy knocked on my door and took her. Wayne tried to fight for his mother but juicy over powered him and snatched her out the house so that's when lil Wayne asked for a gun . " maw tells her

"Now I'm not about to buy an twelve year old a gun so he went to the most dangerous man on o'block and asked for one " she pauses trying to not to get emotional

"the man laughed at first but then when Wayne told him the story they told him that if he sold their drugs they would supply him with whatever gun he wanted so that's just what Wayne did . He started selling drugs and after a couple months they got him a gun "

Kennedy sighs and shakes her head . Wondering why they would give a young boy a gun .

"Wayne couldn't wait to see juicy so he could make him feel the pain that Wayne felt when he hurt him and took his mom . But I guess the word got around so juicy never came back . instead , his mom did and she was in better shape then she was last time being that she wasn't gone for as long ."

"Wayne was excited to see his mother and they moved out for a while in an apartment not to far from my house . " she points " I would go check in on them and see that Wayne's in school and she got a job doing pretty good to make ends meet . So everything went great for a while " maw explains and Kennedy smiles

"Until " maw says and Kennedys smile fades "Wayne turned fifteen and started hanging with the boys from his highschool . This one in particular name is Martin and he was Wayne's best friend at the time . They were always around each other , he was always at the house and then one day Wayne come home and seen Martin and Nora having sex . " Kennedy gasps loudly and maw chuckles at her reaction

"Yep , right there in Wayne's room . So off instinct, He pulled out his gun and shot Martin right in the Head "

"What the heck !" Kennedy furrows her eyebrows not expecting this story to take such a violent turn .

"Yep caught his first body " she shakes her head "long story short Nora got so afraid of her own son that she ran off and got back on that stuff and Wayne came back to me but I couldn't save him at that point it was to late . He only saw blood " she shrugs

"Wow and this is real ? " Kennedy questions and maw nods "I can't believe someone had to go through this " she mumbles

"Yep , he's all grown up now though, doing pretty good for himself "she nods . A small smile covers Kennedy face feeling relief that the character in the book made it through the troubles he faces growing up . It gave Kennedy a little faith that she could make it through this Von situation.

"Really ?! That's good news where is Nora ? " she asks excitedly.

"Oh I don't know , I haven't heard from her "

"How did you meet that terrible lady in the first place?" Kennedy asks annoyed at the woman she's never even met . Maw pauses, looks at her , then smirks .

"She's my daughter "

Kennedy raises her eyebrows after hearing her answer then looks down and nods . She reflects on the Wayne story and starts comparing it to a similar person from her life then realizes what maw is doing . "It's Von story isn't it ? " she mumbles. Maw lifts her head and Kennedy lets all her emotions release , bursting into tears .

"Let it out " maw mumbles rubbing her back and Kennedy cries into her chest .

All the emotions she's held in before and tried to hide released all at once . Hearing that story and realizing that it's Vons affected her more than she knew . She felt bad for leaving him and she wished he would've told her this story so she could understand him on a whole other level .
