"i'm sorry" Esme apologised to the boy pacing around the room. "i didn't meant to"
Zach was still processing the unwanted announcement of his unborn child. he didn't want it to happen this way, nor did Esme.
"can you say something" Esme asked, shifting in her seat. "please"
"why didn't you deny it?" Zach asked.
"i did at first" Esme paused. "then i realised they'll know soon anyway"
"Esme" Zach sighed, his head in his hands. "i told you to-"
"deny it until you told me differently" Esme finished his sentence. "i know"
"did you mean to do this, Esme?" Zach asked, the girl shook her head. "you asked me last week if you. could post about it"
"you told me no" Esme added. "why would i do it?"
"to prove a point to me or something" Zach spoke.
"god, i'm not that pathetic" Esme scoffed.
Zach sat down on the sofa, leaning back and closing his eyes in annoyance. Esme could tell he was stressed and tired. she moved from the table, to the sofa, next to Zach. she put her head on his chest, hugging into him softly.
"i love you" Esme whispered, while Zach putting his arms round her. "i feel like we haven't said that for a while"
"that's my fault" Zach admited, putting his head on hers. "i love you too"
