*The Next Day*
It's finally time to go to Chicago. I was both sad and happy. I could clear my head and see my mom. She told me her boyfriend would be there. My parents have been divorced for about a year now. I didn't hate the guy so that helped. I didn't want to make a scene, so I said goodbye to my dad at home and rode with EJ and Big Red.

"See you guys in a few," I said. I was happy to get away from the drama. I hugged both of them then waved. Hello peace and quiet.

Nini
Ok, I was ready to see everyone. Again. We were just going to go bowling, pretty simple. I looked at my phone to see Gina texting to see if everyone was ready.

This was news to me. I knew about his parents' situation, but he didn't say anything to anyone about leaving? Today? Well, there goes part of our plan. We wanted him to answer our few questions about his 'relationship'. Ok, we'll just pry from EJ and Big Red.

I decided to text the girls because, of course, I was overthinking

The plane ride was very boring. I just listened to music and scrolled through pictures of me and Nini.

When I finally landed, I got a text from my mom. She said Todd would be picking me up since she had work. Of course. That wouldn't be the first time she wasn't available. I know she says she misses me, but it doesn't feel like that. I don't know why I bother coming up here anymore other than holidays, there's no point. I was waiting outside the airport doors when I saw his car pulling up.

"Hey Ricky," Todd said. I don't hate him as much as I used to. I technically had no reason to be mad at him.

"Hey," I said. He asked the normal questions: 'How's school?', 'Friends?', 'Skating?', etc. After saying 'fine' for every one of them, we sat in silence. It was both comfortable and awkward. Once we got to the house, I immediately went up to my room and just decided to sleep.

Yes, I changed when his parents split. This was more of a filler chapter. I didn't notice how short this was until I came back to it. Looking over everything now I noticed the next few chapters are going to be shorter than normal.

I'm thinking of making a one-shot book because I always have ideas of what I want to happen but don't know how to incorporate them.

Also, I have a Jolivia book ready and waiting. I don't have a proper title yet, so suggestions?
