"So have you ever played 21, hot stuff?"

John nodded, with that Jaren picked up his two cards. John did the same with his own and noticed his cards already came up to be 16, debating on if he should pull a card again. "Hit me."

Jaren commanded and picked up a card from the deck while smiling contentedly to himself, now it was John's turn. The older sighed before saying, "hit me." He pulled a card, and it came to be a 3.

The younger watched his face for any reaction but decided to pull again. "Hit me." Jaren's hand was a solid 20, he already knew he had probably won but John hadn't folded yet.

John sighed and placed his cards down. "Stand." Jaren did the same and counted the elder males hand in his head.

"I won." Jaren smiled, clapping his hands cheerfully. John couldn't help but roll his eyes, smiling small at the shorter. "Yeah yeah, whatever, what's the question?"

Jaren acted as though he was thinking before a lightbulb beamed in his head. "What was the most embarrassing thing you've done as a child?"

"Be born."

"John."

"Fine," John sighed. He scrunched his face as he thought of his most embarrassing moment, having to dig in the deepest depths of his mind. "Uh, when I was a football player... I was the captain of the team, lead the team to every victory in my high school. One time we'd been playing against our rival school when suddenly in the middle of me getting ready to make a touchdown, I had fallen and ripped the front of pants and broke through the guard. At the same time a player was coming to kick the ball but missed miserably and landing between my legs."

John chuckled. "I thought I'd never have kids again.."

Jaren couldn't help but giggle at his confession. "Oh, so is that why you're gay?"

"Fuck you, asshole." The elder laughed as well, shuffling the cards for Jaren before passing them out. "It was the worst day of my life, well besides when you moved in."

The younger slaps his shoulder half offended. "Fuck you, bitch." John smiled cheekily and grabbed a card from the stack, his cards reaching 17 and god he was wondering if he should stand.

Jaren did the same and his face dropped immediately as he realized he'd gone over. "Bust.." he groaned in annoyance, throwing his hand down. John laughed, putting his cards down as well while thinking of a question.

"What was your most embarrassing moment?"John asked and at that Jaren flushed knowing he should've never asked the elder that. Shit, they'd promised they'd tell the truth with no bullshit but the younger was starting to rethink it.

"You there?" John asked, waving a hand in front of his face.

Jaren looked up with a small smile before nodding. "Y-Yeah... it's just, it'll make you look at me differently... ya' know?" John blinked once, no twice, before furrowing his eyebrows. He was clearly even more intrigued at what could make him see the almighty Jaren Smith any different.
