Chapter 27

SYDNEY'S POV

3 days after the phonecall I had with Kayla and Tricia, I thought nothing will change

Akala ko kapag nagpalit ako ng sim card at hindi na muna tumawag kina Kayla, hindi niya ako makikita.

But I was wrong.

That day I woke up feeling more tired than ever.

Idagdag pa yung lecheng sipon na halos hindi na ko makahinga.

Pero dahil no choice ako, pinilit ko pa ring bumangon para makapasok na.

I took a bath and put on my comfortable clothes. I also put on a jacket even if it only did little in protecting me from the cold weather.

Then I went to the kichen to check if merong kahit anong pwedeng kainin for breakfast.

And I wasn't surprised to see nothing. Hindi pa kasi ako nakakapamili ng groceries dahil I haven't received my salary yet from my part time work.

Kaya as usual, I'll go to school with an empty stomach.

Meanwhile, school was same old thing. Lecture, essay writings and homework articles.

When the final bell finally rang, I was just glad school was over. But as a working student, I still have duties in the library.

"Sydney, gagala kami ng barkada, wanna come?" Kristen said. She is a classmate and a friend.

"May duty ako. Enjoy na lang kayo."I said before grabbing my bag and walking out of the classroom. I gave them an apologetic smile as I went out.

In the three months I spent in Baguio, Kristen and some other friends had always asked me to hang out with them. Pero dahil wala akong oras at wala akong pera, hindi ako nakakasama.

And I thank them for understanding my situation.

Nang makarating ako sa library, I was half-surprised to see Samuel on my working station.
