The next day I saw Freddie discreetly get John to follow him. They went into the garden for a talk which I hope repairs everything between us. I missed talking to John, he always had a small smile and blush on his cheeks as he spoke.

"Hey" Roger said, snapping me out of my thoughts

"H-hi" I smiled

"Everything ok? I've noticed you've been a bit day-dreamy lately" Roger plonked down on a chair in the dining room and patted the spot next to him

"No no. I'm ok" I smiled as I sat in the seat next to him

"Are you worried about Jim being here tomorrow?" Roger asked

"A bit" I nodded, "I feel like nothing I do will be good enough for him"

"What was he like when you were growing up?" Roger quizzed

"He was a bit strict but not frustratingly strict. I think I remind him too much of my mum so he has been a bit snappy with me over the past 2 or 3 years" I explained

"They aren't together?" Roger questioned

"No. They were young when they had me and to be honest they weren't ready. Dad was in the better position so he got full custody of me. I do see Mum every once in a while, we write letters, y'know" I said as I rested my head on the back of the sofa

"I see. My dad wasn't really involved in my teenage life. He got a bit aggressive with me when I was 10. Mum wasn't a fool and knew exactly what was happening. She left him and I stayed with Mum" Roger explained

"Sorry to hear. I guess we both didn't have the best of luck with our parents" I shrugged

"You could say that" Roger said in his usual raspy but soft tone, "I've never really spoken about that part of my life before"

"No?"

"No, but thank you" Roger smiled. He looked like he had a weight lifted off his shoulders

"DAAAAAARLIIIIIIINGSSSS!!" Freddie's voice echoed through the farm house

"The fuck do you want?" Roger shouted back. I gave him a playful smack on the arm, "ow!"

"Don't be so rude Roger otherwise I won't show you the movie" Freddie strolled past the dining room with a movie in his hands. Roger sprung up and tried to sneak a peek on what the movie was, "Ah-ah-ah! No looking" Freddie tutted

"Fred come on!" Roger whined

Freddie stood on a chair and had his arm in the air so Roger couldn't reach. Roger was jumping and jumping, to be fair he got close. Brian wondered in and took the movie from Freddie with ease.

"Oh, cool movie" Brian nodded

"Bri let me look" Roger groaned

"Umm, no" Brian then stuck his arm in the air

"Face it Rog, you've got no chance against the giant" Freddie commented

John walked in and stood there quietly, watching the three man babies teasing each other.

"Alright time to stop. I think we should give the movie to someone else to put it in the player. Someone who won't go around teasing" I ordered

"John!" The three man babies shouted in unison

John giggled as he took the movie from Brian.

"John tell me what the movie is!" Roger pleaded

"It's Thieves Like Us" John said, "I wanted to see this when it came out"

"Ah me too!" Roger ran into the living room and jumped on the sofa. Brian and Freddie went and sat on the other sides of the drummer. I went and sat on the two seater sofa and gave the boys a glare. They planned this! They are forcing me and John to sit next to each other. I don't mind but I don't want John to feel awkward.

"You did that on purpose" I mouthed to Freddie

He put his hands up in mock surrender and shrugged before turned his attention to the TV screen. John looked around for a seat and nervously came and sat next to me. He was very tense throughout the film and only began to relax about 20 minutes in.

If I'm honest, the film wasn't really my cup of tea. I'm more into Comedy films instead of Drama or Romance. I began drifting off to sleep. Little did I know that whilst I fell asleep, my legs were over the arm of the sofa and my head ended up resting on John's lap. I only realised this when I woke up the next morning...

My eyes fluttered open and I was surprised to see I wasn't in my bed. I was, in fact, in the same place I fell asleep last night. And yes, I was still asleep on John. I looked up to see that he was already awake.

"Hello" I yawned

"Good morning" he smiled a small smile

"Did you sleep well?" I asked

"Yeah. I did actually. I didn't want to wake you so I just stayed here" John confessed

"Do you want to talk about everything that's been happening?" I questioned as I sat up and faced John

"Ok" he nodded

"I know Freddie told you my side of the story" I admitted

"I'm so sorry for thinking that about you and Brian" John's cheeks turned pink, "H-how much did Freddie tell you?"

"Everything" I giggled

"Oh" John's face turned even more pink - if that was even possible, "So...me and you" John got nervous

"I'm waiting for you to say it John, I have been for a while. I didn't want to pressure you into it but now I don't think I can wait" I joked, chuckling a bit

"I never thought I'd get the courage to say it but here we go." John took a deep breath, "W-would you like t-to g-go o-on a date w-with me?" John stuttered

"I'd love to John" I said as I put my hand on his cheek and leaned in ever so slowly. I wasn't hesitating, I was giving John enough time for him to decide whether he wanted this or not. Surprisingly, John was the one to close the gap between us.

"About bloody time" Brian muttered as he walked past us and into the kitchen

I looked into John's eyes and saw he was horrified to be caught but was laughing lightly anyway. I gave him a hug and pulled him down on the sofa so we were laid down side by side, still embracing.
