"Hime" means Princess in Japanese. Usually used as a suffix, but can be used by itself as well.

When you were seven years old, you started noticing that your father wasn't exactly the stereotypical father type man that you thought he always was, and as his true colours showed more and more around the house you decided you wanted to find out why.
Why was he this way? And the answer was that he was hiding something, obviously, and so eight year old you set out to find out what he was hiding to settle your strong curiosity.
They say curiosity killed the cat, but you were smart enough never to get killed, and through a year of slowly easing yourbway in, you found what your father was hiding. He was arrested a few weeks later, and no one ever suspected you until they sat you down for questioning.
Your father turned out to be a scientist trying to find a way to cure the inferno epidemic that was slowly taking over the world. And it turns out he had test subjects too, which he lured in by going out to bars and drugging women and men's drinks and offering them rides home.

For a while you stayed with the police, and they took notice of your third generation fire abilities quickly - saying that you should join the academy to train to become a part of the fire force.
Your curiosity came rushing back like a wave and it filled you to the brim as you thought about the fire force.
What is the fire force? At the age of nine and ten you read every book you could find on them and discovered their purpose and the differences between each division. But your curiosity never lessened, because at the age of eleven when you put in your application for the academy, you realized that the fire force had been fighting and killed inferno's for so many years and they had no intel on how inferno's came to be, no science behind them and their differences.
You wanted to know, and so you were going to become the strongest soldier you could until you could tear down every division and get the answers your wanted.

But now you were sixteen and soon to graduate and all you could think about was how greedy you were.
Though, it was the only thing that kept you going.
"Hime!"
You frowned at the sound of his voice, your eye twitched and you turned around to glare at the foreigner. Arthur, the biggest fool out of all of you, but so incredibly strong that all anyone could do was just call him names.
"Stop calling me that! I'm not a princess!"
He hummed in question, "But you are." He stated.
You were the opposite of a Princess. Your name was supposed to mean something along the lines of 'quiet and peaceful' except you were anything but. You were loud and aggressive and people were always telling you you needed to mind your own business. So if he's calling you, princess, there has to be a good reason.
You scowled and tried to glare holes through him, "How? How am I a princess?"
He rose a brow, seemingly surprised that you decided to ask this time, "For many reasons, of course. Would you like me to list them?"
"Obviously! Or I wouldn't have asked!"
"Alright!" He chuckled, "Well first off, your voice. You thought no one was around that one night you were singing, but I heard."
What? You thought, feeling yourself blush, he heard me?!
"Also, despite all the name calling, you never cared even for a second. Princesses are strong, and you are stronger then even the peer pressure. You've never called me an idiot."
You pursed my lips, "Jeez, stop being all sentimental, it makes my neck hurt!"
He laughed again, "One more thing, Y/N."
You snapped your eyes back to his, he's never called you by your name.
"You... are absolutely, stunningly beautiful."
Your mouth popped open to retort but you had nothing to say. You sang late at night when you couldn't sleep cause it helped you feel calm.
You never called him an idiot because he was just full of pride, taken over by a sin just like you, and maybe also because he impressed you and you didn't want to be like everyone else who looked down on you too by calling him names.
But beautiful? You had no excuse for that, no reason behind it. No one had ever looked at you that way before, let alone had the bravery to say it to your face.
"You think so?" You asked in a whisper.
He smiled, and you guessed he was kind of beautiful too, "I don't think, Hime, I know."

Before you knew it, Arthur and you were closer then you should have been.
Well, most of the time.

"Why is she being so crusty?"
"Y/N is always crusty, Sister."
"No, no, she's more so than usual."
"Her and Arthur got into a fight." Shinra began, answering the two.
They gasped dramatically and your frown deepened from the other side of the room as they quickly piled questions on Shinra's back about what happened.
"Arthur insisted that she should try on this huge puffy princess dress, heals and a tiara and Y/N refused. She said it wouldn't look good on her, and Arthur got mad at her stubborness."
"I am not stubborn! I was just telling him the truth!" You shouted at them, making them all jump.
The Sister and Maki walked up to you with small smiles, "Y/N-chan, I'm sure you'd look beautiful in a princess dress." The Sister began.
"Yeah." Maki agreed, "I don't know why you would disagree, your body is so slim and beautiful!"
You rose a brow, knowing Maki was just trying to get you to do this because she wished she could too. You don't understand why she thought her body wasn't ideal - you thought she was super cool and had the perfect body, but you can't imagine how much she used to get made fun of for being such a muscular woman.
"Arthurs birthday is coming up, isn't it?" The Captain announced, looking at a piece of paper before turning to you for comfirmation.
You sighed heavily, "Yeah. July 10th, two days from now."
"It would suck if you two were still fighting then. Besides, we can't have you out of sorts - especially if it messes up a mission. Understood?"
"Yes."
"So! To make up, we'll dress you up as a princess for Arthur's birthday!"
"WHAT?!"

"See, Y/N-chan? You do look beautiful as a Princess. You just had to get done up and see it properly. Arthur was right."
"Yeah... I guess so."

Taking a deep breath, you looked around at the set up the others made around the courtyard and fountain. Little lights circled you, and the stars were your ceiling.
Your dress was a light blue princess dress and your hair was curled with a small tiara on your head, just as Arthur wished. Some how, Maki even got you see-through slipper-heals that looked like glass, and you didn't ask how long she had those for or how much she spent on them so that her dream could come true through you and she could be happy.
I'm like... a Japanese cinderella...
Smiling lightly, you guess you didn't mind it, and you turned when you heard his footsteps come to a stop. He'd arrived, your knight in shinning armour.
Arthur had been dressed up in a nice suit for the occassion, and his sword hilt was attatched to a white belt, his hair down and combed slightly to the side as he stood staring at you.
He sucked in a breath and closed his mouth as you turned and met his eyes, and he let out the breath a few seconds later, eyes wide.
"Hime..." He whispered, "Y/N-hime..."
"Happy birthday, Arthur."
He quickly came forward, taking your hands lightly in his he slowly placed his forhead on yours, "I told you, Y/N."
"Yeah, I guess you did."
You kissed slowly, and in that moment you forgot about the fact that literally everyone was probably watching your every move. He tightened his grip gently on your hands before pulling away and slipping his hold to your waist and tugging you closer.
You sighed silently in content as you rested your head on his shoulder, and you swayed back and forth calmly with the music in the background.
"Did you plan this?" He asked.
"It was the Captain's idea, actually. Everyone helped out." You replied, "I... I'm sorry for being so stubborn with you. I really did think that I wouldn't look any good."
"Y/N-chan." Arthur began, and you leaned back to see him smile, "I think you're beautiful no matter what. Even when you first wake up in the morning, or when you fall asleep on me and start drooling-"
"Okay!" You giggled as you covered his mouth, "Thank you, Arthur."
"You're welcome."
Giggling again, you placed your hands on his cheeks, "I think I'm in love with you." You whispered.
"I've always been in love with you, Y/N-hime."
