All your life, you had wondered how you could be so beautiful to every single human who passed by you in the range of your voice. Even though many of those humans didn't appeal to you at all, every single one of them seemed to fall instantly in love with you - except for one.
You sat calmly, the position you were in was slowly getting more and more uncomfortable, and the fact that your mouth was taped shut and you were tied to a giant post didn't help. Let's not mention all the men working hard on the deck, most of them cleaning, though each keeping a close, secret eye on your every move.
Their captain, Levi, had scooped you up from the rock you had perched yourself on and thrown you onto his deck. You were so in shock that you practically let them tie you up, but it didn't really matter to you - because for once in your life, instead of some low life human being drawn to you, you were drawn to a human.
And quiet the beautiful one at that.
"She's not struggling?"
"Not at all, Captain."
"Interesting."
You moved your gaze from the interesting perspective of the ocean from your ship to the oncoming men. One much shorter than the other - and you instantly recognized him as the one who had captured you - Captain Levi.
He ripped the tape off of your mouth and you grunted slightly, blinking as you looked up at him. He hid his confusion when you didn't react in the slightest as he put a knife to your throat and threatened that if you tried to sing to get free he would make sure you never sang again. You stared up at him with wonder in your eyes.
"Never seen a Siren act like that..." You heard one of his men mumble.
"Listen up, Siren."
"My name is Y/N." You cooed, "Don't worry, I won't sing."
He scoffed, "I don't give a shit what your name is, and don't speak unless spoken to, got it?"
You nodded, looking up at him expectantly as you waited for him to explain what you were doing here.
"Good. Now, I have some enemies that need to be taken care of - for good - and you're going to lure them right to us." You rose a brow, "You are listening to me, right, brat?"
You giggled, "Yes, I'm listening. You want to use me in your elaborate plan to kill those who have wrong you."
He narrowed his eyes at you, "You'll do exactly as I say, and if even for a second I suspect you'll turn on us, I'll kill you mercilessly and find another Siren. There's plenty of your disgusting kind if you know where to look." He gently pressed the edge of his sword to your chin, and as he pressed up you tilted your head up in an instinct to avoid it.
He smirked lightly before backing up, "Untie her."
"Are you sure, Captain? She could fly away!"
"Do it." He ordered again, not taking his eyes off of you, "She'd be a fool to try and run."
As your ropes loosened, you moved your arms back to your sides and rubbed your wrists. Slowly, you stood, hoping not to freak out the men on the ship.
You smiled lightly to the Captain. Somehow, you were compelled to do as he asked, and made it your mission to do the best job you could and maybe even earn yourself a spot on his crew for good. You didn't want to go back to your lonely cave, where days were dark and men were disgustingly greedy, this time when you looked out at the ocean it was bright and it sparkled under the sun.
You never wanted to go back, in fact, you'd rather the beautiful man kill you than put you back.

It took a while, but you earned a little bit of trust from the crew men as they prepared for the mission. They began to teach you how to clean, and in return you let them pluck out a few feathers from your wings to make into ear-rings and tie to their necklaces.
"What the hell is this?" Captain Levi suddenly said, holding his hand out and glaring at his men.
"Y-Y/N cleaned that table, sir!" A random cadet shouted out, probably too scared to lie, and the Captain snapped his head to you.
"Explain." He commanded as you stared at him expectantly, innocently waiting for him to give you permission to speak.
"Sorry, Captain, I'm still new to cleaning."
He grimaced, and stared with a blank look at you for an uncomfortable amount of time before he sighed heavily, "Come with me, brat. I'll teach you how to clean - properly."
You beamed, running after him as he walked off to grab the cleaning supplies.
You followed his instructions perfectly, and even got a smile out of him as he watched you work just the way he had shown you, "Not bad, Y/N."
"Thank you, Captain."
"Tell me, why aren't you running away? And giving your feathers to my crew? What are you trying to do?"
"What do you mean?" You asked, continuing to clean you smiled to yourself as you felt him give you a glance, "You can't fathom that maybe... I like it here?"
"You like being used?"
Your smile changed from gentle to painful - and it didn't go unnoticed by the captain, "If I get to stay, I guess, I do."
It remained silent after that.

Your possible last day on Levi's ship came fast, and you carefully tip-toed on the pointed ledge of the very front of the mighty ship. You took a deep breath, the boys behind you each had their ears covered - so you knew they were safe from your magic even if it wasn't directed towards you.
You could see the ship of your enemy not too far off in the vast blue sea, seemingly innocent just like yours, when you opened your mouth and began to sing. Almost immediately, the ship began to change it's course and came heading fast for you. You smiled as you sang, everything was working out perfectly.
So show me, men, You thought as your voice got louder as they neared, what is it, that you truly desire?
You let your true form show and you pounced off of the ledge as three men jumped for you hungrily at ounce. You took out their eyes and in an instant Levi and his men were jumping to the enemy ship and taking it over. You didn't even have to start singing again, Levi was more powerful than you could imagine and you wondered why he even needed you in the first place.
Him and his team were rising to victory fast, and your smiled as you watched them from where you had landed on the top of the sail.
And as you were distracted, gazing down at the man who had drawn you in with no magic at all, fighting and taking back what was his, you completely missed the man that everyone else had missed, and the knife he threw with all his strength to you.
You hit the deck hard, groaning as you looked up at the bright sky. Birds flew over head and through the clouds, in a completely different world from yours. You could even fly with them if you really wanted to, run away, take care of this wound on your own... but you didn't want to. You didn't care, because what you desired was Captain Levi. The man who saved you from the darkness you once lived in, who taught you how to clean, and let you live along side his men and live the life of a human for a little while.
You were forever grateful for that.
"Y/N!"
"Captain?" You mumbled, "Is it over already?"
"Yes, it's over - shit - Hange!" He screamed, slowly lifting your head from the deck, "Don't worry, Y/N, since the knife is still in you haven't lost too much blood - we have a good chance of saving you."
You smiled, "It's alright, Levi, I don't mind dying. I just... don't want to go back to that dirty cave."
"Y/N? Hey! Y/N! Don't you dare close your eyes you little brat!"

You know... I have no idea what 'brat' even means...

-

"I can't believe you." He began, sitting down with a huff on the stool beside your bed.
"Well, I'm alive, aren't I?" You grinned, turning from your gaze out the window to his usual crusty expression.
"You are a powerful being, someone who could easily have anyone at their mercy, yet you couldn't even see a knife coming at you from a mile away."
"Yes... but I kind of lost that when I met you."
"What?" Somehow, you found the way he glared at you in confusion very amusing,
"Well, as a Siren, I'm used to people 'falling in love' with me in an instant. But after sitting for years on my own in that cave and having people fall for me over and over again, I began to wonder what it was like to fall for someone. I thought I would die without ever knowing, until I met you. I desire you like the men who fall for my voice desire me... and I got distracted during the battle. Sorry for worrying you, Captain."
"Your such a fool." He sighed, raising his hand and placing it on top of your head, ruffling your hair slightly, "In the human world, we don't say we 'desire' someone, we say we 'like' them, or 'care' about them. Got it?"
You nodded happily, "Yes. Thank you, Levi. I care about you."
He snorted, "I care about you too, brat."
