So even though I'm single as fuck and am hating men right now for being complicated and absolute trash, I watch romance shows to remind myself what I could have but probably won't have for another five years because chiVaLry is DeaD and I am Too intorverTed to do anything mYseLf.

Speaking of romance, I recently published a Kaoru Hitachiin X OC story that's super cute! So if you're just as much of a hopeless romantic as I am, please check it out!

You met at the break of dawn, the sun lit your path and as you entered the castle grounds you met his eyes. They were an odd golden honey shade and almost seemed cat like, and they widened as he took in your own that glowed an E/C.
you were the daughter of a king famous for his war victories from years ago, and now that the war was over and your father was dead, the King of Wisteria gave you to Prince Izana to work and protect as a knight.
You didn't get immediate respect from everyone, and many of the prideful men of the house challenged you without hesitation, but in due time you took rule of the majority of the knights and made good friends with the strongest of the group.
The boy that you saw the first day you arrived was a master with stealth techniques - but there had been a few times you caught him watching your sparing matches from afar. He was someone who stuck close to Prince Zen's side, most likely by his order, and you found him commonly by Shirayuki's side - a young girl with bright red hair and a knack for herbs medicines.
You officially met when one of Prince Zen's personal knights challenged you to a duel.
Many of the others told you she had incredible skill and could definitely rival you, and you were certainly proud of the fight she put up. Even still, you managed to beat her.
Zen congratulated you, commenting on how it was foolish of him to bet that his knight could win against someone personally chosen by his older brother himself.
"Not foolish, Prince Zen. Just not thought through."
He laughed sheepishly, nodding his head in agreement.
"Anyways, I've been meaning to ask, if you don't mind." You continued, glancing back at him to the same cat boy who stood with a hand on his shoulder, leaning against a pillar as he talked to Prince Zen's other personal knight who ended up hitting him over the head, "Who is that man?"
"Huh?" Prince Zen turned to look at where you had gestured, "Ah, that's Obi. Obi! Come!"
Obi walked over, a small faded smile on his face as he came to his Prince's side before finally meeting your eyes.
That same shocked look returned, and you blinked in slight confusion.
"Obi, this is F/N L/N. A knight chosen personally by my older brother. She won the battle against Kiki and she seems rather interested in you. I'm sure you two would get along, so, why don't you spend some time together?"
"Sure thing, Prince Zen." Obi nodded, hands raising above his head, "So, where too miss?"
You cringed, though put on a small smile for him, "Just call me N/N, if you will."
"N/N it is."

After that, you weren't afraid to approach the male at all. You shot an arrow at him when you caught him staring at you practicing your aim, and when you missed he jumped down to first ask if you were trying to kill him and then showed you a tip to aim.
You hung out the rest of the day after that, laughing and talking about your past experiences in the battle field.
Soon, months passed and everyday you'd see each other at least once, and even if no words were spoken, you would wink if you caught him staring and he would sneak up behind you if you didn't.

You would take walks through the forest at night, and after one night when he had to catch you from tripping over a loose root when you weren't paying attention, you hung onto his arm from then on whenever you walked.
And then it became habit to do it anywhere and everywhere, Obi always reminding you by holding out his arm without words.
You would fall asleep together in your room after hours of talking about pointless shit and sipping wine, well - he drank a lot more than you did, but he was the one who always insisted on bringing the alcohol to your 'nightly hang outs' and he always came in through the window.
Sometimes he would even cook for you, though the first time he did it was way too spicy and you swear you almost died, but he helped you while he laughed his little ass off.
You'd seen his scars, and he'd seen yours. He'd told you why he always held his shoulder - and it was a habit he formed during his past to protect himself when vulnerable.
He helped you learn new fighting techniques, and you smirked at his impressiveness when he turned out to be a quick study. Before you knew it, despite how you once saw him staring at Shirayuki, you were dancing with him under the stars and he was looking at you the way he once looked at her.
Even though you weren't really officially dating, everyone noticed the way you acted towards each other.

But now, a week later, you were slightly confused.
The way he stroked your hair, the way he hugged you and reassured you that everything was okay to get you to fall asleep after a nightmare.
The days you'd talk and drink and laugh all told you you were in love with each other and didn't need to say it out loud to know it. And even though you were so sure that he wasn't going to look at Shirayuki in that loving way ever again, you watched as he stood with the red haired girl looking at her like he looked at you the other night. He walked close beside her and you narrowed your eyes as you felt yourself get jealous.
He looked behind him, as if being able to feel your gaze, and he looked shocked to see you watching him.
You quickly left the area, deciding to let out your frustrations on some innocent knights instead of Obi and that poor girl who probably was oblivious to Obi's obvious fondness of her.
As you knocked a younger knight to the ground, your eye brow twitching in annoyance at the way he groaned and cried when he told you to 'have mercy', Obi's voice called your name from behind.
"Y/N, I saw you back there and you looked pretty mad, did something-" The male tensed dramatically as you turned and pointed your sword at his neck. His hands flew up and he coughed out a laugh, "I see you're angry."
"Obi, I am in love with you." You declared, the few knights around you choking on their spit and one yelled about how his ship had sailed, "And I'm not angry. I just... got jealous of that girl."
"Sh-shirayuki? Ah, the miss, she... she's with Prince Zen, you know."
You blinked, "Wait seriously? I mean- but you looked so fond of her, that I just!"
Obi chuckled, pushing your sword down gently with two fingers, you lowered your guard and let him step closer to take your free hand in his.
"I will admit, I used to like the miss more then I ever should have. But when I saw you... everything on my mind that was once her became you. I love you too, Y/N. More then I could have ever loved Shirayuki."
You smiled, throwing your sword to the ground you threw your arms around Obi's neck and brought him into a passionate kiss. He dipped you slightly as he kissed back, passion flowing in between you as the others still watching cheered.
"That was nice." Obi mused, "We should do that more often."
You giggled, hugging him tightly, "Yeah, we should, but-"
"Dinner first?"
"I'm cooking."
"Dammit. Make my dish spicy!"
