We both took our seats and Annie smiled at me.
"So how was the beach?" Christina asked her fork clinking against the plate as she put it down.

"Fine." I answered after an awkward pause.
"Just fine?" She questioned again the sickening smile plastered to her face.
"Yes. Just fine."
"Why." Chris said from beside me.
"I'm sorry?" Christina questioned.
"Christian." My father warned
"Why the hell are we pretending to be some sort of family here? Where is your husband? Why are you here?"
"This isn't pretending. We are a family if you like it or not and I think we should get to know each other. And my husband is over in France right now."
"May I be excused?" Chris stood up without being answered walking away.
I awkwardly scrapped my fork against the plate.
"Go get him." My dad said turning to me.
"Yeah." I pushed my chair back and it scrapped against the wood making an unpleasant noise.

I took my time walking upstairs towards Chris's room. I knocked on the door.

After a few seconds he didnt answer and I walked in.

"Hey?" I questioned as he threw a shirt over his head.
"Oh hey. Was that believable?"
"Yeah nicely done."
"Thanks. Normal routine."
"Got it, tell everyone I say hello."
"Yeah I will sorry I can't have you escape with me."
"Cant deal with my back and party at the same time. See ya tomorrow."
"Bye Ans have fun at dinner."
"You know I will."

He climbed out his window onto the roof. I turned on his stereo turning it up then locked his door closing it behind me. I went back down stairs as slow as I could then back outside. Taking a seat my Dad looked over at me and I shrugged.

"You know he isn't one for family gatherings."
"I apologize for him Christina."
"Oh no problem we can still carry on with out him. I understand."

My phone buzzed and i lifted it from my hip.

Brendan: ur bad at lying.
Me: wasnt a lie. I dont want to b here either.
Brendan: oh yeah and I rly do
Me: i hav an idea hold on

I clicked my phone off and inturuped the conversation.

"Excuse me Dad?"
"Yes?"
"There is this party tonight and I was wondering if I could take Brendan?"
"Are you up for that Brendan."
"Yeah sounds cool."
"Christina are you alright with this?
"Yeah I love to see them getting along just like real siblings."
"Then you may go."
"Thanks."

I took off from my seat and so did Brendan. As we went back into the house you could here the other girls complaining.

"Thanks for that save."
"Yeah sure. Just wait in the kitchen I'll be right down."

I put on a jean shorts and a bandeau with a black brandy shirt reading New York I'll sleep when I'm dead. Then I grabbed black heels walking into my bathroom I took my pain killers and went back downstairs towards Brendan.

"Ready to go?"
"Yep lets go." He placed his phone into his back pocket.

We walked out to the car and I grabbed my keys from the top of my left tier.

"Nice hiding place."
"They weren't hidden."

We drove to the party in silence the radio blaring to fill the air. When we got there I parked down the street at my friends house and we walked to the two houses with blaring music.

"I'm going swimming and to get some alcohol in my system." Brendan announced.
"Im the designated driver then."
"You could have a few drinks."
"Pain killers I cant consume alcohol."
"Oh well have fun with that."
"I will. Make some new friends and dont tell anyone how you know me."
"Understood."
"Find me when you feel like leaving."
"Same goes for you."
