Kian placed the treasure chest on a table and held the key on his trembling hands. Who knows what kind of thing was kept in here that it would even be sealed beneath a secret room in Sunken Bazaar.

Beside him, Xian curiously sent gazes at the chest. At the same time, he was also alert. Who knows what kind of thing might pop out if they opened it.

"Here goes nothing" Kian emtered the key to the keyhole and slowly twisted it.

A low clicking of metals sounded out in the quiet room. The chest slowly opened like a clam, slowly revealing a pearl. There was a faint gold light that escaped.

Inside a chest was a red cloth. On top of it was a small glowing red pill. It emitted the aroma of roses.

Suddenly, it seems started to shake and without a moment's notice flew at top speed towards Kian.

Kian's mouth which was slightly opened wasn't able to block the red pill's entrance. It entered from his esophagus to his stomach.

"Wha-what?!" Kian backed away and clutched his abdomen.

Who knows what that red pill was for? It can even fly on its own. Now, his back was drenched with cold sweat. He was waiting for the effects to come.

The pill didn't make him wait long. A burning feeling spread from his stomach. It slowly permeated to the other parts of his body like ants slowly marching to their destinations.

At first, it merely made him slightly uncomfortable. A few seconds later, it really felt as if he was slowly being burned by boiling water. He couldn't help but scream and roll around. Nevertheless, it did nothing to alleviate the pain.

"Boss, hang in there. It seems good for you!" Xian who was beside him patted his master's head with his little paws.

His body now had a slight sheen. The previous paleness that he had for staying too long in dark areas was gone and was replaced by a little bit of tan. He also became a bit more muscular which gave him a slightly dependable look.

A few minutes later, the pain subsided. Kian stared at the ceiling as he took in quick breaths.

He raised his hand and clicked at the air. A screen appeared showing him all of his stats.

"NANI?!" he couldn't help but say the forbidden word.

He pushed himself up and sat down on the bed to get a closer look.

The red pill was actually for increasing stats. To think that it could actually raise his strength, agility, and vitality points to a hundred and his dexterity by fifty.

"How could this be possible? Hey, Xian!" he gave Xian and incredulous look.

Xian was also shocked. He gripped his chin with his paws and thought deeply.

"W-well... Theoretically, it's not impossible. If you consume enough stat potions, you would also be able to achieve the same effects" Xian said slowly.

"However, it would cost millions of rune stones. Moreover, you still have to think about the supplies and where you-" Xian wasn't able to finish what he was about to say when Kian suddenly grabbed him and rubbed his head.

"Does that mean that we just earned a jackpot?" Kian couldn't help but giggle like a maiden in love. He was too happy to care.

"Mm" Xian nodded.

Kian rolled around on the bed once again while screaming. However, they were screams of joy instead. Moreover, a cute little cat was trapped on his arms, wanting to escape.

After a while, Kian finally managed to contain his emotions although the occasional giggles still kept on coming out of his mouth.

"The strength, vitality, and agility stats all rose to a hundred. How come dexterity only rose by a half?" Kian asked the question that had been bugging him.

"It must be because dexterity has mostly had to do with the brain rather than the entire body. I don't know. But this is quite bad" Xian said.

"Bad?" Kian asked confusedly with furrowed eyebrows.

"Well you see, boss. Your other physical stats rely on the Dexterity stats to be properly exerted. Right now, you can't become a close combat mage if your dexterity can't keep up or you'll end up as clumsy in close quarter combat." Xian explained.

Kian was not worried however. He could just buy some dexterity stat potions anyway with his money. Besides, he just needed the strength stat in case the enemy approached him.

The thing that most delighted him was the Vitality stats. Right now, he could serve as a sub-tank in party with how high his stats were. Even if he was bombarded with attacks, he would easily die because of his high health points and defense.

"I wish I could try this out right now" he sighed and lied back on the bed.

This wasn't Shade Academy anymore. The guards kept a strict management at night especially that there were player killers somewhere.

He sighed as restrained his excitement. If there was ever a time, he would definitely love to go on hunting, something that had become a habit and a form of pastime for him back on the Gloom Faction.
