----------

An hour later since the battle started the scene outside of Shade Academy became a place of chaos.

Kian couldn't help but freeze the moment he arrived at the battlefield. What welcomed was no longer the tall gates of the academy but a swarm of monsters trying to break through the entrance.

If not for the fact that the players were keeping a tight formation, they would've already broken through the place.

Kian's heart sank when he noticed that there were fewer players than before. He tried to search for Shawn and Bea but they never entered his sight.

"Where?!" he was alarmed and sneaked into the gap in the formation of players, not minding whether he had to face the monsters.

Kian fired barrages of bullets at the monsters as he tried to make way. He managed to spot parties of players stranded within the massive sea of monsters.

He had the skill Flight so he was quite lucky. Most of the monsters couldn't reach him so he easily managed to give support.

He flew around the battlefield as he searched from party to party for Shawn and Bea before he managed to find the duo together with a few more  players.

Bea who was giving support behind Shawn didn't notice that there was an incoming monster behind her as she fired off another skill towards a monster.

"Bea, dodge!" Kain screamed and flew to them at full speed.

He aimed his pistol at the monster and fired a Phantom Bullet. Bea who just turned around and saw Kian fire bullet dodged.

The monster behind her exploded into fragments of light and disappeared. At the same time, Kian arrived and landed on the ground.

"What took you so long?!" Shawn shot him an annoyed look.

Kian didn't bother with him and instead inquired about the situation.

"There's actually a stronger enemy out there manipulating the three monster bosses. Just a while ago, it fired a wave of light from the north. Every monster hit by the wave got stronger. They managed to breach the formations set up by the players" Bea explained with horror still in her eyes.

Kian's heart sank. A stronger enemy appeared? How are they supposed to deal with it when it was already hard to just fight with the overflow?

"T-then, how many died?" Kian gritted his teeth as he asked with a grim face.

"I don't know. Probably hundreds" the black haired girl shook her head and sighed.

"Anyway. We can't leave this place so we can only give it our all and kill as much as possible" Kian shrugged and raised his pistol.

"There's already a few formations laid out in this area. You don't have to worry about your mana" Bea nodded.

The players reorganized themselves. With Kian present, the load on them became lesser.

In the battlefield, no one relaxed their vigilance despite stress accumulating inside them. They applied all techniques they know just to make sure they don't fall from exhaustion and die.

Kian was also pretty exhausted but the continuous rise in his levels as well as his proficiency in his skills kept him going. There was even a small smile on his face because once he reached a hundred percent proficiency in his skill, he'll be able to freely changed their properties and damage.
