Note: I decided to make a second part of my poem "Saving Us" which was posted few months ago. So kindly read that first before this to make connections. Enjoy reading! :)

Gravity

I was wondering what it was,

that made you tripped off when you got on the bus,

Now I know it was gravity,

that brought you stumbling right at me,

“Whoa, careful.” I said in haste,

We were almost hugging, my hands on your waist,

Shocked as you may seem, you quickly pulled away,

You uttered a quick “Thank you”, like what I’ve expected you to say,

I smiled at you, told you to be careful next time,

You nodded and then sat on the empty seat next to mine,

We stayed in silence as the bus started to move,

As I stole one last glance, one last glance at you,

“Where are you headed?” I asked out of the blue,

You just looked at me so I looked at you too,

“Uh.. just.. somewhere”, you answered after a while,

“Somewhere near or somewhere far?”, I asked but you just smiled,

I looked at the window for you not to see,

the smile I was holding back because I missed you badly,

But then the bus slowed for a stop,

I let out a sigh and started to get up,

I turned to you then bid goodbye,

You gave me a nod but there’s something in your eyes,

I walked past you, our hands brushed accidentally,

Then the regret of what happened before rushed back at me,

I got off the bus, each step was heavy,

Then it began to move away from me,

I was left standing there,

“Somewhere far,” I mumbled to myself,

I decided to leave when the bus where you’re in was out of sight,

“Somewhere near,” I was startled seeing you there like you just came back to life,

And as some force closed the distance between us, we stopped, you stared,

Then you smiled and said, “I’m going everywhere just as long as you’re there.”
