Distant Hues

There was a world
I have discovered,
One I could only see
when I am with him,
A place
where words could be tasted,
And emotions could be seen,
A silent haven
of reds and purples and blues,
A universe
of different twirling hues,

But..

He closed the portal
all so suddenly,
Built walls high enough
for me not to reach,
He told me things
that tasted like blood,
Showed me emotions
I couldn't understand,

I was left standing
outside of his world,
My mouth hung open
and my heart wholly torn,
I watched in tears
as the words, emotions,
and colors I once knew,

vanished in to thin air
gone in distant hues.
