****8.1 - Thieron****

He walked into the Mansion, adjusting the blades on his holster.

He had the advantage of not being asked to remove his weapons whenever he visited. Anyone else would have to surrender their weapons before entering the gated Mansion.

The Mansion was conspicuous – a huge one like that in the Open surely would draw attention. But, then again, not many humans lived in the Open, and the Leadership was least bothered about it. In fact, the Leadership was unconcerned about anything beyond Innermost.

Thieron detested these visits, but they had to be done. He wished he could just send the In'ealk – the collected souls – through someone, but visiting Alton Ivar was a must-do activity.

As he made his way through the halls of the East Wing, the helpers scurried away, some members of H'eon glared at him, and some others moved to avoid him. The only one who acknowledged him was Dhor-Wo, and Thieron hated him the most.

"Done, slogging?" Dhor-Wo spoke in Ytèan, his voice as always sarcastic towards him.

Thieron ignored him and made his way to Alton Ivar's office space. Dhor-Wo followed him.

"If you would have been half as great as me, you could have been doing more important work." The Ytai tried to provoke him.

Thieron suppressed a snarl and knocked on Ivar's office door. The two guards usually present at the door weren't there that day. Dhor-Wo laughed and left.

"Come in." Alton Ivar's muffled voice came in through the door.

Thieron let a breath to remove his anger and went in. Ivar's office room was extravagant compared to the rest of the Mansion. It was where he met people, and the room was meant as a power play; to intimidate whoever entered it. The rich wooden walls had intricate carvings and fitted with the latest human and Ytai tech. The room was also furnished overzealously.

Alton Ivar was seated at his table; legs stretched out on it. The huge DigiScreen was on, the news channel playing loudly. Thieron gauged Alton's aura who's basic aura color was orange - a common one. The soul glimmered around a person like an aura. Everyone had a primary aura color – the color of their soul. Other colors flickered into the aura depending on what the person was feeling – like yellow for excitement, lavender for daydreaming, a light cream-yellow for surprise.
