There is only one possibility in this kind of circumstance, and it is probably because he has some kind of mental issues. Could it be autism? She doesn't know much about mental issues.

"Where is your parent?" She asked.

"They left me."

"Oh." She understands that some parents abandon their children because of some health issues, but why was he in a mansion like this. Could it be that he wondered to here just like she did.

She smiled and stood up again. Then she realized that he stood up after her.

Looking at her, he following her footstep. She moved, he moved, she stopped, and he stopped. She sighed and took his soft hand in hers. She just can't leave him when he looked so insecure.

When she held his hands she realized they were bigger than hers. When he stood up, he was taller than her too. It was just that when he cuddled in a ball, he looked so petite and small.

When her hand touched his, she felt he tensed, and his gaze diverted away, afraid of looking at her. A pinkish color bloomed on his face.

He looked so cute that she wanted to scream on the inside.

She walked over to the door and peeked out, and she let out a breath as she saw no one was out there. As she looked at this boy holding her hand, she just can't seem to let him go.

She held his hand and walked out of the castle. They meandered in the woods for a while. It was scary, but this time she was not alone. She can't believe she ran this far into it. But after a while, she finally saw the city lights.

She regretted walking those small and dark streets. As she walked on the lighted street with tons of people, she felt so much safer. She took Lucas to her apartment.

..

When they arrived at her apartment, she saw him looking at it curiously.

She set her stuff on the floor and walked over to Lucas, taking his hand, guided him to the sofa. After she turned on the TV, she touched his cheek and rubbed his extremely soft, silvery like hair.

"You can watch some TV; I go grab you a drink." Then she saw him pursed his cute little lips, seemingly a little unhappy that she touched him.

....

She went to prepare some food and milk for him. He seemed like the kind of person who would like to drink milk. Then she carried it out on a tray and put it in front of him.

"Here, eat." She said.

"Oh," he took the bread and took a little bite, his movement graceful. She took a sip of her drink too.

She felt she couldn't divert her gaze from him to the TV. He looked way more interesting. She felt his cheek flush, as he didn't know where to put his gaze under her watch.

Then she realized something. There is no way that she can support another person. He said he was sixteen, and then he could still be adopted. She just need to get the problem of his job worked out before she can do anything to help him. But just for now, she guesses he could stay here with her.

After eating, she let him watch the T.V. while she went searching for jobs again.

...

"Ding....Ding...." she quickly picked up the phone, hoping that she got a job.

"Hello." She said nervously.

"Hi, Ma'am, sorry. We are not able to hire you, sorry for the inconvenient." A business like voice said on the other side of the phone, and he was about to hang off.
