Ari’s P.O.V

My head felt strange, it was all fuzzy. I couldn’t remember where I was or who I was. Images just kept popping up, springing out from the darkness, of those that I knew and loved. People kept on talking to me, screaming at me to wake up… I didn’t even realise I was asleep. I tried to answer them, but no sound came out.

“Ari, please wake up… I-I need you.” A voice sobbed, shattering my heart into a million pieces. The same voice had been talking to me for sometime now. Every now and again they would tell me how much they loved me and wished that I would wake up soon. In my head I was screaming.

“I’m trying to!” But of course, nothing came out. I felt that persons hand in mine again, I recognised every callous. Suddenly a name popped into my head, George. That’s the person who is holding my hand, I could recognise the voice anywhere. As soon as I knew who it was, my feelings for them came rushing back. I knew I had to wake up soon, for George.

“Oh hey.” George said to the new arrival.

“I’m just here to check her vitals, to see how she’s doing. She’s a fighter this one, anybody else would have given up by now.” The person said, as she pulled my eyelid back to shine a torch into my eye before she pressed my wrist, checking my pulse. “The good news is George, she’s showing signs of improvement, her eyes reacted to the light for once, which means she’s near consciousness. She could very well wake up this evening.”

“Really? That’s amazing! Do you hear that Ari, you’re going to wake up soon, you’re going to be okay!” He exclaimed ecstatically. The door opened and closed again, George resumed his position by my bedside. Before the door swung open again.

“George how is she doing?” I heard someone ask, Tonks my cousin. I was starting to recognise people again.

“She’s doing good, the nurse said she might wake up soon.”

“That’s great news!” Fred said, the mischievous twin.

“Oh Georgie, I’m so happy for you.” Mrs Weasley cried.

“I don’t know what I would have done if anything had happened to her.” Harry murmured sadly.

“You aren’t to blame Harry, it could have happened to anyone.” Hermione, ever the voice of reason said.

“Yeah mate, don’t beat yourself up about it.” Ron chirped in, joining the conversation. The blurriness in my head had started to clear; I began to remember everything from the day I first did something unexplainable, to getting my Hogwarts letter, right up to when I lost consciousness. I remembered the pain I was in, and begging someone, anyone, to make it stop, to make the pain go away.

“She’s one tough cookie.” Remus laughed, patting my arm, which caused me to twitch.

“Did you see that? She moved!” George cried, clutching my hand tighter. “Ariella, if you can hear me, squeeze my hand.” He demanded, to which I complied. “Fred go get the Healer, she’s waking up.”
