I sat there as the Principal looked out her window, the room was filled with silence and for a while. I thought I did something wrong, She took an envelope out of her back pocket and slid it to me on the table.
"Read this" she said
I picked up the envelope and read the front, it was addressed to me from an unknown address, to be honest, I didn't know any address then my house address. I opened up the envelope and read the letter inside.
Dear Rick
We have talked with your school about this experiment that we have been working on for the past 6 years, and they said you're the best person for the job, go to this address once you are done with school.
DON'T BRING ANYONE WITH YOU.

Something about this letter gave me chills, but I didn't know why. Dr. Delacroix? What would a doctor need with me, I'm just some 8th grader.
"Do you know anything about this?" I asked
"No clue they just said to give it to you" the Principal replied
"Alright" I said
I got my stuff and left the office.
