In the Science Commission lab 28, Johnson was looking at David's blood again.

Through a microscope he could see it had even more little papery bits. David's blood cells were turning white as well.

Johnson looked away from the microscope. He was going to have to do the hard work of checking David's DNA to attempt to understand David's condition. He decided to leave it up to his peers at a later time. He looked at Ball's body from across the lab, and tapped his fingers.

***

David was in a prison cell in the Science Commission's basement. Uncomfortable he rolled over, and slept for a serious amount of time.

He wasn't aware until he took a thought about the sense in his situation. He wasn't in his room or the school. David opened his eyes to find he was behind bars.

No no no!

He got up to look out of the bars. He really didn't want 'beating up a peer' to go on his permanent record.
It seemed he was in a corridor with other empty cells.

Is this really a police station?

He couldn't hear anybody.
"Hello!?" David shouted.
Nobody answered.

I guess not.
Oh gosh. I have super powers?

David sat down crossing his legs. He gazed at his hands trying to run a circuit through them. He was half hearted in this, as he really didn't want to be a superpowered mutant.
As hard as he was willing to try, no circuit was created.

Sitting back, David heard the tip tap of someone walking over to him.

He panicked about what he was going to say to the police. The lad was guilty this time.
"I take full responsib-"
Ball walked into his view.
They both stared at each other for a while.
"... Why are you imprisoned?" Ball asked.

David didn't say anything. He just stared with his mouth agape.
"What?" Ball smiled.
"Y-you're alive again!" David blurted.
"Of course I'm alive. Wasn't planning on being gone forever," Ball said avoiding eye contact.

"What do you mean?" David asked sitting forward.
"Mm, well when my soul and Drake's melded together we decided that we needed to understand each other before separating again. At least that is what I believed happened. I was not exactly conscious," Ball explained.
"Do you remember anything?" David was slightly, concerned but more curious.

"I remember stress... but that does not matter now. I am free, and I will not let Josie, nor any false accusation from her lead me astray. Drake is a sufferer of great circumstance," Ball started to march back and forth, "As his daughter and heir I will not let my life be wasted by some drama. Who cares! I am free! I really truly am! And the first thing I am going to do is let you out of here,"

Ball swung the door open using her foot and no key.
"Thanks! Wait, was the door unlocked the whole time?" David stood up and went through the door. He looked at where the lock would've been.
"Yes.. But only because we expected you to be asleep, or too follow the rules of the current authority. Not to critique your character, but you tend to think inside social systems," Ball said honestly.

"Doesn't everybody though?" David said, now on the outside of the cell.
"I suppose... but nevermind all that. We have important business to attend to!" Ball shouted. She looked rather on top of it all.
While David was listening, he savored every moment. Seeing Ball so happy and well, alive -made him feel rejuvenated just the same. It was like the weight of the world took a hike leaving him to breathe easy for once.

"What type of business?" He was eager to find out.
"Craeggs business!" Ball grinned with a nice tone of fierceness. She started to pace around in an oval as she spoke "It is obvious to me where Craeggs is located, but I have not yet found a clever way to trick the aliens into letting me onto their ship. I have the keycard Craeggs wanted-" Ball took it out from behind her almost as if she had a pocket.

She held it up by balancing it on the tip of her foot. David sat down.
"Hmm, why don't you ask to return it," David suggested.
Ball dropped the key card with a sudden flash of stress.
"What's wrong?" David asked her.

"I just remembered a feeling... the space ship is not a safe place..." Ball looked past David like she was seeing a phantom, "They were doing experiments on Johnson long ago. It didn't work on him," She looked at David in the face, "But it did, on... something else,"

David took a deep breath.
"What do you mean?" A little trickle of fear could be heard in his voice.
"I am not sure," Ball looked at the floor and tapped her foot, "It just.. feels that way.."
"I don't think you can feel facts. You might've had a vision. What types of experiments were going on?" David asked her to clarify.

"Something that makes one tremble, and vomit, and feel as if they are being watched," Ball tried explaining.

"That could be a ton of things, but being watched is different. You think the aliens are watching us?" David started to feel paranoid. Ball tapped her foot again.

"I feel it was other people who were watching us, not the aliens. Things truly out of this WORLD. But that isn't something to fear. The experiments make you start to notice people that are, behind some type of wall that's always there...These are just things Johnson knows. I understand how it may confuse you," Ball seemed conflicted with the process of this new information.

"Yeah, you kinda lost me on that last thing Ball, but I'm ready to help you get Craeggs. Where do you think we should start? You have the key card. Maybe you could return it and try to make it a reason to come over; properly introduce yourself," David suggested the same idea.
"That sounds good, but I will have to talk to Johnson about it," Ball said.
"You trust Johnson!?" David couldn't believe it.

"Yes. His care for his species has skyrocketed. I think that was me," Ball seemed rather proud. She swayed back and forth.

"Well, what should we do now?" David knew it was late into the night.
"Rest," Ball walked over to him and tapped his knee.
"Alright," David stood up, "See you tomorrow?"
"Yeah!"
David walked down the hall, and then turned around.
"How the heck do I get outta here?"
"Oh, right," Ball rushed over to help him.
