He is talking on his huge stylized 30's cellular phone.
LUTHER: Hello...Dad? You're breaking up. Could you just text me?
The school children behind them are using either their phones or oversized computer tablets to call, text or surf the Internet.
MARIA: (V.O.) World culture had contorted itself to accommodate the unrelenting onslaught of human magic.
