“What do you mean, you’re in labor?!” asked Louis.

“I mean, this baby is on its way!” I yelled.

“Hey hey; relax,” Harry said while gripping my shoulders. “Stress isn’t good for the baby.”

I breathed in deeply before relaxing my shoulders and snuggling into Harry’s chest. I heard Louis clear his throat awkwardly.

“I guess I’ll call for help,” he muttered.

His fingers flew over the keys as he found Killian’s number and waited for her to answer. After a couple minutes of trying to sooth her frantic state, he handed the phone to me.

“She wants to talk to you,” he said.

“Hello?” I said as soon as the phone connected to my ear.

“How are you doing? Is the baby okay?” she asked worriedly.

“I’m fine, and the contractions are getting closer together, so I assume the baby’s fine,” I said.

We talked for a few more minutes before ending the conversation. I handed the phone back to Louis.

“She’s calling 911 for me and the building has maintenance men coming to get us out,” I explained.

Louis has his face scrunched in confusion.

“What?” I asked in irritation.

“When did you and my wife become best friends?” he asked.

“When she decided to be mature about the whole situation, unlike her husband,” I said.

Louis glared at me and took a step forward before Harry put a hand to his chest to calm him.

“Don’t touch me!” he hissed.

Harry dropped his hand and pushed me behind him.

“God Louis! Why do you hate me so much?!” Harry yelled; finally letting out all of his pent up anger toward Louis.

I saw Louis flinch and recoil for a moment before he was right in his face again.

“I LOVED YOU!” he yelled.

I gasped quietly as Harry’s jaw went slack.

Harry’s voice came out as barely a whisper. “What?”

“Yeah, you heard me! I was in love with you! But, Liam had to go and declare his love before I could, and you went and got yourself a girlfriend. How do you think I felt? You called him disgusting! Therefore, I was disgusting! Getting a girlfriend definitely made it worse though,” Louis finished, breathing deeply from his rant.

Harry and I were completely shocked. I tried to say something, but it was as if my tongue weighed a million pounds.

“Louis, I never meant to call Liam disgusting. It was a slip-up! We all make mistakes, and you ran away before I could apologize; always taking Liam’s side from then on. As for Charlotte, do you still feel that way?” he asked.

“No. I have Killian now. I love her more now than I ever loved you,” he said.

I breathed a quiet sigh of relief just before another contraction hit me.

“Guys, I’m glad it’s all in the open, but could you make up before I give birth right here in this elevator?” I asked through gritted teeth.

Louis suddenly threw his arms around Harry and buried his face in his neck.

“Apology accepted; and I’m sorry I’ve been such a prick to you,” he said.

“You don’t need to apologize,” Harry whispered.

The strongest contraction yet hit me, and I dropped to my knees slowly and clutched my stomach.

“I don’t think this baby’s gonna wait much longer,” I heard Louis say as they huddled around me.

“Just breathe,” Harry instructed, noticing my panicked expression.

Louis’ POV

I took a step back to give them privacy as Harry gripped her hand and sat next to her. Charlotte leaned against the elevator wall as the contraction ended, breathing deeply.

“Good job, Love. It’s gonna be okay,” I heard Harry whisper gently.

Harry rested his forehead on hers, whispering words of comfort and relaxation. I noticed her empty hand clench as another contraction started.

Something in my mind clicked at that moment.

Charlotte is kind, beautiful, gentle, a great mother, strong, confident when she needs to be, but vulnerable too. She was there for her husband when no one else was.

She is perfect for Harry Styles.

I rushed forward and slid my hand into her empty one and gave her a reassuring squeeze. Through the pain and nerves, she looked up briefly to lock eyes with me and give me a grateful gaze. Harry and I both winced as she gripped our hands with blinding force.

Just as we started to panic, the elevator started to move down.

The doors slid open as we hit the ground floor.

When it opened, we were met with the relieved eyes of our friends and family, that is, until Charlotte screamed.
