Chapter 3 But was it all a dream...?

I looked around the classroom nervously. They weren't here yet, thank God. I folded my arms on the desk and rested my head on them, closing my eyes and breathing deeply. Would my life ever NOT be a hell-hole?

Then I heard what I was dreading: boy's shoes, approaching my table. I looked up to see Tommy and Ross standing there, looking down at me. I put on a brave face,

"What do you want?" I asked sweetly, knowing what was coming next.

"You know what I want" said Tommy

"Oh come on! You do this every day, the answer is still no and always will be!" I cried out desperately

"Ahhh, but today there's no one to stop him..." I felt my eyes widen at Ross's words. Frantically I looked round the classroom. He was right, no-one was in the room anymore and someone had closed all the windows and blinds. A quick glance at the door told me that it was locked. I completely panicked, would anyone hear me if I screamed? Tommy leaned in closer to me. I tried with desperation to dodge out of my chair and towards the door, but Ross grabbed my shoulders from behind me and pushed me back into my chair.

"Don't think you're going anywhere girlie" he half-snarled

By now I could feel Tommy's breath on my cheek and the twisted smirk on his face was even worse up close. I could see only one way out of this, drawing in a deep breath I screamed at the top of my lungs,

"HELP!!!!!!!" My only hope was that someone would hear me. I took in another deep breath, filling my lungs and cheeks with air, ready to let out the loudest scream I could muster, when the chair suddenly disappeared from underneath me. I screamed, not to make people hear me, but because I was mortified. I had no idea who had me, where he/she was heading or what their intentions were, I had no idea what was going on. It was a long, bloodcurdling scream that shocked even me. I was still and quiet long enough to realise that I was being carried bridal-style at quite a fast pace and that my eyes were closed whilst my breathing was coming in short, fast gasps. I heard the automatic doors at the front reception open, and then the following cool breeze washed over my face. The pace slowed, then finally came to a halt and I was lowered gently until placed on the ground. I could smell the fresh sweet smell of grass and guessed I must be on the playing field. As I breathed in the scent of the grass, I heard two sets of footsteps running, getting closer...were Tommy and Ross coming back for me? I started to panic again, my breathing got faster,

"Sssshhhh, calm down, it's okay" a worried male's voice said, it wasn't one I knew, it wasn't Ross or Tommy, I was okay. The footsteps got really close, then stopped and I could hear people gasping for breath.

"Is she okay?"

"Has she said anything else?" Two worried voices asked. They sounded familiar, but neither of them were Ross or Tommy either.

"No, she's breathing quite quickly and sharply and she doesn't appear to have woken up yet." Said the unknown voice, "When did she fall asleep?"

ASLEEP!? Oh. My. God. I fell asleep in class!? So was it all a dream then? Was there no Ross or Tommy in the first place? As if people didn't have enough to torture me about already!

"Just after we got into class, she folded her arms on the table and rested her head on them, that was about 5 minutes before you came in with miss." Said Jaycee.

I was feeling a lot calmer now and was curious as to who this new voice belonged to. I took a few relaxing breaths and opened my eyes...

To see an angel staring down at me...
