The Christmas Invasion Pt. 2

"Rose, {Y/N}. Take a look. I've got access to the military. They're tracking a spaceship. It's big, it's fast, and it's coming this way" Mickey says.

"Coming for what, though? The Doctor? {Y/N}?"

"I don't know. Maybe it's coming for all of us" Mickey pulls up a clear picture of the aliens.

"Have you seen them before?" he asks looking at {Y/N}.

"No."

*Time skip*

"I don't understand what they're saying. The TARDIS translates alien languages inside my head, all the time, wherever I am" Rose says from outside the room that {Y/N} and the Doctor were in.

"So, why isn't it doing it now? Can't {Y/N} understand them?" Mickey asks.

"I don't know. Must be the Doctor. Like he's part of the circuit, and I wouldn't ask {Y/N} either, they're both broken" Rose says looking behind her at {Y/N} who had the Doctor's hand in her's.

"Despite claims of an alien hoax, it's been reported that NATO forces are on red alert."

"Come on, sweetheart. What do you need? What is it you need? I may be your wife but I can only do so much" {Y/N} whispers creasing the Doctor's cheek.

"Speaking strictly off the record, government sources are calling this our longest night."

Rose stands in the doorway of the bedroom watching a sleeping {Y/N} rest her head on the Doctor's arm.

"The Doctor wouldn't do this. The old Doctor, the proper Doctor, he'd wake up. He'd save us" Rose says, Mickey stands beside her.

"You really love them, don't you?" Rose turns to Mickey and they hug.

*Time skip*

"What do we do?" Mickey asks as he looks at {Y/N} who was looking out the window.

"Nothing. There's no one to save you. Not anymore" {Y/N} says plainly.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if I may take a moment during this terrible time. It's hardly the Queen's speech. I'm afraid that's been cancelled. Did we ask about the royal family? Oh. They're on the roof. But, ladies and gentlemen, this crisis is unique, and I'm afraid to say, it might get much worse. I would ask you all to remain calm. But I have one request. Doctor, {Y/N}, if you're out there, we need you. I don't know what to do. If you can hear me, Doctor and {Y/N}. If anyone knows the Doctor or {Y/N}, if anyone can find them, the situation has never been more desperate. Help us. Please, Doctor, {Y/N}. Help us. God help us" {Y/N} stares blankly at the screen where Harriet Jones was speaking, suddenly Rose busts into tears.

"They're gone. The Doctor and {Y/N} gone. They left me, mum. They left me, mum" Rose says through her tears.

"It's all right" Jackie says.

"I'm sorry" {Y/N} whispers ever so quietly, just then all the glass in the apartment shatter, Rose and Mickey go outside amongst the glass shards to watch this big powered rock with nasty pointy bits glide overhead.

*Time skip*

"{Y/N}" Rose waves her hand in front of {Y/N}'s face.

"We're going to carry him. Mum, get your stuff, and get some food. We're going, Mickey help me carry him" {Y/N} stands, as Mickey and Rose lift the Doctor.

"Where to?" Mickey asks.

"The TARDIS. It's the only safe place on Earth" {Y/N} says.

"What're we going to do in there?"

"Hide."

"Is that it?" Jackie asks, {Y/N} looks over at Jackie.

"Jackie, look in the sky. There's a great, big, alien invasion and I don't know what to do, all right? I've travelled with him since day one, and I've never seen that... ever, I'm useless. Now, all we can do is run and hide, and I'm sorry. Now, move" {Y/N} says honestly, they soon make it outside and Jackie is struggling with carrier bags filled with food while Rose, Mickey and {Y/N} carry the Doctor.

"Mum, will you just leave that stuff and give us a hand?" Rose says.

"It's food! You said we need food."

"Just leave it!" {Y/N} pulls the TARDIS key out of her pocket and opens the door, they all walk inside and carefully place the Doctor on the ground.

"No chance you could fly this thing?" Mickey asks looking at {Y/N} and Rose who shake their heads.

"Not anymore, no" {Y/N} says.

"Nope" Rose adds.

"Well, you did it before" Mickey says now looking at Rose.

"I know, but it's sort of been wiped out of my head, like it's forbidden. Try that again and I think the Universe rips in half."

"Ah, better not, then."

"Maybe not."

"So, what do we do? Just sit here?"

"That's as good as it gets" {Y/N} says sitting on the steps of the TARDIS.

"Right, here we go. Nice cup of tea" Jackie walks in with a flask

"Mmm, the solution to everything" Rose says laughing a little.

"Now, stop your moaning. I'll get the rest of the food" with that Jackie walks out.

"Tea. Like we're having a picnic while the world comes to an end. Very British. How does this thing work? If it picks up TV, maybe we could see what's going on out there. Maybe we've surrendered. What do you do to it?" Mickey asks.

"I don't know. It sort of tunes itself" Rose says, {Y/N} sits with her back turned as she listens to Rose and Mickey talk, she suddenly feels the TARDIS shift slightly completely unaware to Mickey and Rose, she stands up and walks over to the scanner, where an odd pattern resided.

"Maybe it's a distress signal" Mickey says also walking over.

"A fat lot of good that's going to do" Rose adds.

"Are you going to be a misery all the time?"

"Yes."

"You should look at it from my point of view, stuck in here with your mum's cooking..."

"Where is she? I'd better give her a hand. It might start raining missiles out there."

"Tell her anything from a tin, that's fine!" Mickey shouts.

"Why don't you tell her yourself?"

"I'm not that brave."

"Oh, I don't know" with that Rose steps outside, {Y/N}'s eyes go wide and suddenly Rose screams.

"Rose?" Mickey drops the flask near where the Doctor was laying and turns back to {Y/N} who was right behind him "no, stay here with him" {Y/N} squints.

"You make sure she's safe, Mickey" Mickey nods and runs out, a few seconds later she sees Mickey run back and shut the doors, she turns back to the Doctor and sees the tea soaking through the grated floor, what she doesn't see is the Doctor breathing it in and exhaling more golden energy, she slowly moves back to the console "of course you had to be connected to him, ay?" she whispers quietly sliding her hand across the console, that's when someone places their hand over hers, she goes wide eyed and looks up to see the Doctor smiling down at her.

"She has always been connected to you as well" he replies quietly, she smiles and hugs him.

"I missed you, Doctor" he places a kiss on the top of her forehead and pulls away.

"Now let's go make an entrance, what do you say?" he holds out his hand for her, she takes it and they both walk to the TARDIS doors and push them open.

"Did you miss me?" the Doctor asks, everyone looks at him and {Y/N}.
