I closed my classroom door and walked out of the school. It's almost 6 on a Friday night and I have no plans. I do know that I dont want to cook so I decided to get some takeout and take it home.
Once I got to the restaurant I sat down and waited for my order.
**Ryan's POV**
"I'm going out. I'll be back later" I told Ricky then left.
I got in my car and drove to the same restaurant I always went to. I walked in a saw the same girl from the grocery store.
"Did you order squash?" I asked
**Carter's POV**
I looked up and saw the guy from the store.
I laughed "no, I actually ordered a salad, but thanks for asking"
"Are you here alone?"
"Oh, yeah. Are you?" I asked nervously
"Oh, um, yeah."
I sighed and wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans "there's some, um, tables outside. Do you maybe want to, um, eat together?"
"Oh, sure. It would be nice to not eat alone for once" he said rubbing the back of his neck
We both got our food and say outside.
"Soo, what do you do for work? If you dont mind me asking" Ryan said
"Oh, I don't mind. I'm a preschool teacher for special needs kids."
"Oh, wow. Do you like it?"
"Yeah, I love it. I love little kids. What do you do?"
"Oh, I travel a lot. I'm not home much"
I thought it was odd he didn't tell me his exact job, but since we just met I didn't push the subject any further.
"Do you have a tattoo?" I asked looking at his hands
"I have a few" he said taking his hoddie off to expose his tattooed arms
"A few?! Have you ever counted? That's a lot!"
Ryan chuckled "I lost count, but I have one in the back of my neck too."
"I wish I was brave enough to get a tattoo"
"So why don't you?"
"I hate needles and I don't know what I would permanently want on my skin"
"I get that" Ryan said and smiled at me
**Ryan's POV**
After dinner with Carter I just decided to go back home. I got her number so maybe we can hang out again soon.
"Where have you been?" Ricky asked as soon as I walked in the door
"I was at dinner"
"With who?"
"Some girl who ran into me with a cart at the store"
"You saw her again?"
"Yeah, she was at the same restaurant I was"
"So, did you like ask her out?" Ricky asked
"Not yet. I just ran into her at the restaurant and we ate together so we didn't have to eat alone"
"I see"
"She's a preschool teacher, Rick."
"Whoa! What did she say when you told her you were in a metal band?"
"I didn't exactly tell her that. I just told her I traveled a lot for work. Was that bad of me?"
"Well, duh! Ryan you should have told her the whole truth!"
I hate to say it, but Rickys right on this one.
