"Why would there be a weird, black - dressed guy in your house?"

"I really have no idea. But what confuses me more is that my mom doesn't even know there was someone in our house. She has like an affinity with that house. They have like one soul and body!"

Both me and Avein started giggling. I told her about that event as soon as we met each other. Joking about it is one thing, peicing it together is another. Lunch break just started, and me and Avein plan on going to the Bazaar. It's not that far from here, and we got some time to burn.

"Alch, you should talk to your mom about it."

"I don't know, I already told you that my parents are acting a little strange lately..."

"Which is why you should talk to them. Tell ém what's bugging you. Clear the air."

"Guess your right..."

"On another note, did you hear the news? They said they haven't found the culprit behind the Beretian genocide."

"Yep, I heard. They say it was an Engineer from Bestandehl. Seems obvious, They're the only ones who can make deadly weapons and such..."

As we talked, we had no idea we were at the Bazaar already. The place was fun, colorful, and lively! Tents were built around here and there to sere as shops. Performers littered the streets and foods were scattered about. Music from harps, trumpets, drums and the shouts of people drowned the place. Avein and I were wearing our biggest smiles all throughout.

We didn't just go here to eat. Our school held a meeting and came up with an idea to start a relief operation for the victims of the genocide. Naturally, for the surrounding Communes that were raveaged and affected by the sudden appearance of Cryptids, since according to news, the radiation that was coming out of the former Commune cause surrounding fauna to go berserk and mutate. The two of us were assigned to canvass for supplies that is to be needed for the program.

"Alch, focus alright, don't go running off somewhere!" Avein smirked.

"I know, geez"

We split up. I wasn't really the best at this. I have this quirk to just be sucked into something for hours. I hope I focus or I'll never hear the end of it from Avein. The way I took was filled with stalls and foodstands. I decided to buy some flavored buns and some Extracts to fill me up. It feels like walking forever, there seemes to be no end of this Bazaar. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a place called "Sundries". They sell some medicinesand the like. I decided to start my canvassing here. The inside of the place was very rustic. Potions were in their aisle and elixirs in theirs. Fragrances were situated atop the ceilings, giving the area an ethereal, dreamy atmosphere.

I started jotting down the prices of stuff that I thought was useful for the program. I was about to ask the shopkeeper for a hand, when I saw him talking to someone. Someone familiar.

It was my DAD!!!

What the hell was he doing here?! He was supposed to be at work at this time.Great, first my mom is acting bonkers, now my dad is shirking off work. I hid myself behind the shelves trying to eavesdrop on them. Whatever they were talking about, they want it to remain  a secret. I could barely hear what they were talking about. It seeme pretty serious too.

The shopkeeper motioned his hand to the aisle were I was hiding behind a shelf. Shit! Please go anywhere but here. I had no idea why I was scared about being seen by me father, but I need to do everything to get out of here. I crouched down so low my stomach pained. I just darted out of there before my dad could appraoch. Good thing the tarp covering the entrance was open so the two of them barely noticed my going out. Years of sneaking inside my mom's powder room was finally worth it. I was running fast and away from there. I kept my eyes on that store, checking to see if they somehow sensed there was someone there. I just randomly ran in every corner I apporached. Since I was on full panic mode, I didn't see I was about to bump into someone.

"OUCH!"

"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, It's my fault!"

"You should be, idiot! Do you know who I am?!"

I tilted my head up to see a pretty, blue - haired Sapir. By the way she's dressed, she looks like royalty.

I am so fucked today.....
