Currently, you were sitting on the ground by the apple orchard while the two twins discussed both their mother and grandmother. Moreover, they were coming up with plans for your payment. Lying on your back, you watched the soft clouds go by in the blue sky. Birds chirped in the distance and a light breeze blew over the area. Green leaves rustled and you smiled at the peacefulness of the outside, if only it could last. The brothers had other ideas though.

The marching band of the seven rainbow-colored foxes came by, playing their joyous and lighthearted music. Their music made the other sounds almost inaudible and caused the brothers to stop talking for a few moments. Once the band went by, they proceeded with their conversation. Sighing, you glanced over at some of Clarencia's peach-colored birds. You were tempted to just run to one and take flight. Maybe then you could get away from the brothers, but then again you made a bargain with Diamond. Despite your dread at would happen this afternoon, you would keep your word. Not a moment later, you saw the two brothers approach you. Heart grinned down at you while Diamond smiled.

"Guess what, my dear lady? It's officially noon, meaning that the afternoon has begun. We can finally play our game."

"And what game do I have the joy of playing?"

"Miss ____, we've decided that you will find this green apple that I'm holding in my hand. As you can see, this apple has a small flesh wound in its side. Of course I will hide it in the orchard before we start and Heart will cover your eyes while I do so. When I return, you will have a two minute head start. Your goal is to find the apple before one of us finds you. From memory I presume you know what happens if one of us wins."

"Sadly, I do. Fine, let's finish this ridiculous game," you stated, crossing your arms over your chest.

Diamond nodded while you stood up from the ground. Heart walked around you, so that he was standing behind you. His hands soon covered your eyes, as Diamond went into the orchard. Frankly though, Heart was holding you a little too close for your comfort. You tried to create some distance, since the sapphire buttons on his vest were pressing into your back. He of course didn't allow this and kept his right hand over your eyes while his left arm and hand wrapped around your waist.

"Trying to get away, my dear lady?"

"No, but your vest buttons are pressing into my skin. So if you could loosen your hold, it would be appreciated."

"No can do, I rather like holding you like this."

Huffing in irritation, you just tried to push the slight pain aside. Several minutes of this discomfort passed before Heart uncovered your eyes and released you. Diamond was back and went over to stand beside his brother. Each of them started to count down from five and when they hit zero, you bolted into the orchard. You had two minutes before they came in after you, but that seemed like such a short amount of time. They had chosen a green apple that was the color of the tree leaves, making it all the harder to find. Right now your goal was to just get far into the orchard. This way the brothers would have a harder time finding you.

When you felt far enough in, your eyes scanned the bases of trees and the branches. So far you saw nothing and you only went farther into the orchard. You passed a few more trees, but you thought that you saw the apple up in one of the higher branches of a tree. Stopping, you examined it closer and it was indeed a green apple. Mentally cheering, you began your ascent.

As you were climbing, you heard footsteps in the distance and knew that the brothers were now searching for you. You had to hurry, since Diamond would probably come to the location of the apple first. Thus you quickly made the rest of the distance and gripped the apple in your hands. At first you were about to shout in joy, but soon your face paled. This apple had no cut in it, but was untouched. Diamond had hid multiple green apples in the orchard to trick you, the jerk. He probably was hiding some in his coat pockets when he was explaining the rules to you, or rather when you weren't looking had hid some in the orchard beforehand.

Quickly, you placed the apple back in its place and descended the tree. When your feet were on the earth, the footsteps were closer. Knowing that you didn't have much time, you quietly walked away from the tree and hid behind one of the nearby ones, since they were close. A few seconds later, you heard the footsteps pause and someone muttered a curse. Judging by the voice, it was Diamond. The footsteps then continued and eventually were out of your hearing range.

Breathing a quiet breath of relief, you moved from your hiding spot and carefully explored the orchard. Every now and then, you would hear movement close to you. In these instances you would stop and remain quiet behind one of the trees until you thought it safe to come out. On other occasions you would find the apples that wouldn't be the correct one. It was absolutely frustrating and you wondered if Diamond kept the actual apple in his pocket. Technically, he did say he would hide it in the orchard. With that in mind, it could very well be on his person, since he was in the orchard himself. If that were the case, you would have to be extremely careful in retrieving it. Likewise, Heart could have the apple as well. Diamond merely could have hid the scratched apple in his brother's pocket. Hopefully, neither of them had it on them.

By the time you reached the edge of the orchard that was facing the river, you were quite hungry. You hadn't eaten anything since last night and here you were running from the twins. Frankly, you didn't want to lose and have them try to feed you. There were apples around you, but crunching on one may very well give your location away. Pushing the thought of eating aside, you glanced around the outskirts of the orchard and saw nothing. Just as you were about to step back into the orchard, your foot hit something in the ground. At first you assumed it to be a tree root, but upon closer inspection you noticed that the earth had been disturbed and that the grass in that area had been torn.

Getting on your hand and knees, you dug at the surface only to pull out a green apple. Once again disappointment struck you. Tossing the apple aside, you brushed the dirt off your hands and got up. How Diamond had managed to bury the apple in the ground was beyond you. He probably utilized his sword to that advantage. Scanning your surroundings, you found it safe to move forward; however this time you would explore the edges of the orchard.

Reaching the north end of the orchard, you stopped to catch your breath. Two hours had most likely gone by and you were getting tired. Normally, you would've been fine, but you were hungry and now thirsty. It was so tempting to take one of the apples and bite into it. Your left hand reached out to grab one, but maintaining your self-control you pulled your hand back. You could wait a little longer. Soon you would find the proper green apple, at least that's what you kept telling yourself.

Energy depleting, you examined the area and to your displeasure turned up empty handed. By this point you were pretty certain that one of the brothers had the apple, though you still had to check the east and south ends. Pushing yourself forward, you went to the east end and explored. The sound of footsteps once again hit your ears. They were coming from your right. Taking refuge behind one of the nearby trees, you briefly peeked out from the tree to see the back of Heart. He had his hands on his hips and was tapping his right foot, obviously annoyed that he hadn't found you yet. Personally, you were pretty satisfied that you had evaded them for what seemed like two hours.

Since he had his back turned, you examined his form to see if there was an apple hiding somewhere. He turned a little, allowing you a side view. In his left vest pocket, you noticed a round object. Was that the green apple you were looking for? Then again it could be another decoy. Should you take the risk? How would you even get it away from him before he saw you?

Footsteps suddenly sounded from behind you and you knew that if you didn't move you would be caught. Cursing silently, you glanced behind you and you couldn't see anything except more trees. Knowing that it was now or never, you pulled an apple from the tree and aimed. Soon the apple went flying from your hand towards its target. It hit right on point and you ran forward.

Heart stumbled forward when the apple hit his head hard. He heard someone running at him, but didn't have enough time to turn around. In the next second, he felt a hand reach into his left vest pocket. Quickly, he secured his right hand around their wrist, but it was too late. His blue eyes met your (e/c) orbs, though you already had the apple in your hand. You had made the right decision and you had won. Victory rested in your right hand and you grinned like a little kid.

"Looks like I win, Heart," you said triumphantly before tugging your wrist away from him.

He just stood there shocked; you had indeed won. This wasn't what he was expecting at all. Seeing his brother walk over, he just pointed at the apple that lay in your right hand. Never had you felt so jubilant. You wanted to jump up and down, but you restrained yourself. The brothers on the other hand just looked perplexed and seeing their baffled visages made you all the more joyous.

"Diamond, what are we exactly supposed to do now?" Heart questioned, looking seriously lost.

Not giving him any time to respond, you interjected, "Well seeing as I won, I'm going to get some food. Heart I know that you can cook and I expect a feast."

Thus you walked off with a smirk decorating your face while the brothers still were amazed by this turn of events. They would amuse you for now, but they could always come up with another way to get you.
