Do you guys want shorter updates frequently, or longer updates every couple days?

Listening to Within Temptation's songs as I write this chapter really gets me moving. :)

"WHAT ABOUT MY MOTHER?" I asked. "Do you know who she is? Where is she? I-"

"I'm sorry, Tess. Only Thor and Loki know who your mother is. It's um... Actually from your biological mother. Tony didn't want to give it to you for some weird reason." He replied softly. "Do you want me to put the necklace on for you?"

I nodded in approval as I removed my hair from my sweaty neck.

Steve took the necklace from my hands gently and clasped it on my neck. His hands lingered over the jewel as he ran his fingers along the chain of the necklace.

"It's really beautiful." He commented.

"I know, right?" I replied.

Steve moved his gaze from the necklace to my eyes as he shook his head after a few moments of staring into them.

"You're-you're eyes are really pretty." Steve commented, rubbing his face with a hand.

Before I could say anything, I blurted out. "Yours too."

Again, the stupid curse,

He chuckled at my comment as the glowing necklace caught my attention. Why was it glowing?

Steve must've noticed my stare, because he too was looking.

My mind wandered off and I found myself asking Steve a question. "Can you do something for me?"

Steve looked at me warily, before agreeing.

"We need to figure out who my biological mother is."

Steve looked at me cautiously. "Tessa. We can get in a lot of trouble for doing this. Fury is already very frustrated with what you've been doing the past couple of hours. Plus, it's almost midnight. I think you're just becoming a little too tired to think stra-"

"Are you in or not?" My voice sounding strained.

Steve waited a few seconds before looking around the room. "I don't know, what do I get in return?"

"Well, that depends on what you want?"

Steve looked at me. "To be honest, I don't know what I want. I'll think of something, though. But until then, I'm in." He smiled.

"Great."

"Tessa, we should NOT be doing this!" Steve told me as we climbed through the metallic vents.

"It's the only way!" I hissed, turning my head back at him.

"We can just simply walk through the door and look for your file." He stated simply, looking down through a vent.

"Fury could be in there. You never know. And he could have lasers surrounding it." I cautiously told him.

Steve chuckled. "You sound like a little girl right now."

"You never know. Lasers are still quite popular these days."

"Yes. But, you see, I'm not very fond of things these days." Steve replied.

"Not my fault." I mumbled before crawling a little bit more. Steve huffed before following me reluctantly, murmuring things that were not within my hearing distance.
