Up and Down

End of the week

I'm walking down the street with Kate after school luckily its Friday, school is worse this term than it was last term, because now I have to deal with the fact that my crush A.K.A Chase, is a big player (and its really hard for me because of him kissing me that time we were going to have lunch) but anyway Kate and I are planning to go shopping together and get some new things.
"I can't wait I really need to get you and I some things for tomorrow night"
"What's tomorrow night?"
"A party and we are going"
"Kate you know I don't like those parties" I moan
"I know but please just go to this one with me"
"God the things I do for you"
"Yessssss I can't wait......." She goes but I stopped listening when I see a man wearing a black hoodie watching me, he looks so familiar, but I can't recognize him. Suddenly Kate is shaking me
"Ivy your phones ringing" I quickly shake my head and pull out my phone
"Hi"
"Ivy its urgent come here, to the police station now" it's Carmen, she's a police and has been really nice to me ever since I ran in there when dad murdered mum
"What wrong Carmen?"
"I'll explain when you get here but just get asap and if your gonna run don't let guy in a black hoodie near you alright"
"Yep sure" then she hangs up on me I turn to Kate to explain
"Kate it was Carmen and she says I have to go straight up to her at the station"
"Is it serious Ivy?" I'm worried about what she'll say
"Cuz if it is.... I'll come with you" I let out a sigh relief
"Thanks"
We both turn around and sprint up to the station.
Kate and I burst into the station
"Carmen what happened?"
"You should come in here, does she know about your parents?" She asks nodding towards Kate
"Yeah Kate knows 'bout dad"
"Good, then both of you come in here"
We obediently follow her into one the rooms
"Ivy" she says in a voice mixed between worry and seriousness, but what I hear next makes me understand why
"Your father has escaped"
"What" I squeak, then collapse into a sobbing mess
"No, no it can't be true it just can't be" Kate wraps her arms around me and pulls me into a bear hug
"Carmen mind if I take her home?"
"No not at all just make sure she doesn't let anyone she doesn't know near her, Okay?"
"Of course" then Kate slowly pulls to my feet and leads me away.

Kate's POV ------------------------------------------
I can't believe this has happened to Ivy, I'm leading her out of the station I know I told Carmen that I would take her home but, instead I'm taking her to Charlie, she needs him, he's better at calming her
"Where are you taking me Kate?" She asks miserably
"To Charlie" but instead of answering she just nods,
"I want to be alone Kate, not with Charlie"
"No, you can't be alone in the streets anymore, it's to dangerous to be alone, your dads out no doubt wanting to kill like he killed your mum" I feel really bad, I know she likes to be alone when she's sad but I don't want her to get hurt,
"Kate Ivy, what's up" I look up and see Chase jogging towards us,
"Sorry we're a bit busy right now, Chase"
"Oh, what's wrong with Ivy?"
"I'm not allowed to tell you" the next thing I knew Ivy slipped out of my grip and was running away, down the street,
"Ivy come back, you can't do this" I yell
"Yes I can" she doesn't stop running, so I start running after her leaving Chase very confused,
"Can you please tell me what's going on" I turn my head to see Chase running along beside me
"No but, if you catch she might explain" he nods and starts flat out sprinting.
