Up and Down

Just lunch?

I meet Chase at the beach at thinking it would just be lunch. I wore a grey shirt and black jeans with holes on the knees.

"Hey Ivy," Chase smiles when he sees me.

"Uh hi what's up" I'm horrible at this.
"Nothing much how are you?"
"Got a lecture by grandma"
"By your grandma? You mean your mum"
"No grandma oh wait yeah um mum" I feel my eyes getting watery so I look down and try to wipe them without Chase finding out I'm just about crying
"So what did you get a lecture about?"
"She found out about the double date and wanted to know everything especially about you and if we ya know um uh hooked up but I told her we didn't she was that we didn't though"
"Were you disappointed?" Yes I think I'm in love with this boy
"No uh course not"I stutter
"To bad cuz I am" he leans in to kiss me I nearly have a total freak out but instead I lean over and whisper in his ear
"I don't know how to kiss" he looks up confusion written all over his face
"Remember I've never dated anyone"
"Yeh but you never said you'd never been kissed"
"Well I'll say it now I've never been kissed"
Something lights up in his face
"Ok, come with me" but instead of kissing me he grabs my hand and pulls me along behind him, he looks back and grins at me "where are we going this time?"
"Back to my secret place"
"Why when I'm with you I never end up eating?"
"Don't worry there's food there" now I'm just confused
He suddenly grabs me and lifts onto his shoulders, I don't object but I'm still scared so hold onto him and rest my head on his, I think about in the beach hut and wonder if he really wanted to kiss me, he was probably just joking but a can still hope.
"Why are you so quiet up there?"
"Just thinking"
"About me nearly kissing you?, that's what I'm thinking about"
I laugh I know he's probably lying but I find it funny
"What I am"
That makes me laugh louder
"I'll prove it"
"Wait how do you prove what your thinking"
"Don't know but will this make you believe" he pulls me over his shoulder so I'm in front of him and kisses me, I'm frozen but I don't stop him, when he pulls away he chuckles softly
"What does that face mean?" I'm lost for words I open my mouth but nothing comes out instead I just smile and hug him, we stand there for a while then I realize what I'm doing and let go of him, then start walking ahead really embarrassed.
When we get there we lay on a picnic blanket (I have no idea where it came from) and ate lunch he must have planned this out this morning.

Chases POV
I think I've messed things up which is really annoying because I was going to ask her out
"Hey Ivy did I mess up are you mad...... Are we still friends" I'm worried we're not
"What the hell Chase your not getting rid of me that easily, I was just embarrassed because I don't usually hug anyone apart from my family Charlie or Kate" thank god
"Good I was worried I lost you" ok this is my chance
"Never, but don't you dare tell Kate or Ryder, I'd never hear the end of it" suddenly a beeping sound comes from her phone and she answers
"Kate are you ok?" There's a pause
"Don't worry I'll be there soon" then she hangs up
"Sorry Chase I have to go comfort my Kate she's really sad because she actually fell in love with Ryder it doesn't sound like much but she's never really been in love she just dates guys, and Ryder went and cheated on her"
" God his an idiot sometimes" damn you Ryder
She stood up and started jogging back, so I follow her trying to think of some other way to ask her out, schools back tomorrow so that makes it harder.
