Cameron

"I just need to see her, please!" I beg, as I pull on the nurses hand.

"I'm sorry Cameron. You and her both need to rest. Maybe tomorrow, when you guys feel better, you can see each other". She says.

My lips began to tremble.

I'm not going to wait another day to see Avery! I need to see her now!

I needed to see her beautiful face. I needed to caress her in my arms and kiss her a thousand of times.

She probably hates me right now, but I didn't care.

I broke her heart, and then after that, I broke her...

I felt terribly sorry. I regret every decision Ive made to hurt her.

I wanted to hold her in my arms and never let her go.

"Please! Just for ten minutes?" I beg.

As I pulled on her flimsy arm, my whole upper body ached in pain.

"No Mr.Dallas and that's my final answer!" She sternly says.

"You need to heal for another 24 hours, until you can get up on your feet. If you begin to walk now, your body isn't going to make a full recovery".

I sit back in the hospital bed and sigh.

A single tear escaped from the corner of my eye, and drizzled down my cheek.

I wanted to curl up in a little ball and cry. But I needed to stay strong.

The nurse left, leaving me alone in the sick-smelling room.

I watched the door, waiting to see if anyone else was going to come through.

Minutes past, and the nurse had still not come back.

I pushed the thin, white blanket off of my body, and propped my legs over the side of the bed.

My face scrunched up, as my ribs stung in pain.

Every time I moved, a rib would stab me in the lung. It hurt like shit, but I tried to ignore it.

I stood up, on my unstable leg.

My left leg was totally broken, so it hurt to put pressure on it.

I spotted a pair of unused crutches, leaning against the wall.

I dragged my body, across the room, and grabbed them.

Fortunately, they were the perfect height for me.

I rested my underarms on the arms of the crutches.

My dislocated shoulder blade stung in pain. I let out a yelp.

I walked over towards the door, and slowly peaked through the crack.

The hallway laid empty. Not a single person roamed it.

I opened the door and began walking wearily down the hall.

Scanning the room as I walked, I tried to find Avery's room.

Each room had their last name written on the door.

It went alphabetically in order.
